  1. No and they had spacers with them. But the sound quality wasn't great and sometimes they would rattle. I think i need something more like a tweeter that doesn't need great acoustics.
  2. I recently bought some Infinity reference speakers and they really didn't fit well in the front door. I ended up mounting them in the box for my Sub in the trunk, and just putting my rear seat down when i want music. Just curious on what some of you are using or what ideas you have...
  3. Yea you know I made a really stupid mistake so its not a surprise that wasn't the issue for you. Sometimes I need to slow down a little. Hope it gets worked out man -bill
  4. Will do...may be a few days I'll PM you if the thread is way down by the time i find out
  5. Yea I checked out the plug in. Its all good. There was some corrosion around the ground. Cleaned it up, still no fix. Gonna look into it more tommorow
  6. wow, maybe i better look at just working on the motor i already have. You know I love this site you guys are amazing! I'm such a noob, but I'm really learning. I've spent so much time in the past few days just looking over peoples questions and really taking in as much as i can. You probably just saved me A LOT of money... thank you man, it really means a lot to me :)
  7. Yea I'm still finishing up college. And as crazy/EXPENSIVE as it sounds I want to do an EJ20 swap. I've always really wanted a Subaru that I didn't get rid of and was special/unique to me. WRX's are great cars, but everyone has one around here, and unfortunately a lot of them know nothing about the engine or history of Subaru. WRX's are fine by themselves, but I wanna do my own thing I suppose. For right now its just gotta get me through college. The only thing I want to do is get an intercooler on it because I don't feel comfortable with how its blowing such warm air into the engine. I have to admit, I love surprising people in this car and so thats why I thought of getting a BOV (not in a street racing sense). No one never seems to guess it has a Turbo.
  8. oh sick. didn't know that. right now the boost is great. I'm getting about 7 1/2 to 8 pounds but I will take a look anyway. Looks like I wont be putting in the BOV. It sounds great, but I'm not doing anything to "look cool" if its gonna waste my money and do the opposite of create power.
  9. I agree actually. I wouldn't use it all the time, but on those really hot days, I'd end up spending a few dollars in drinks anyway....
  10. darn...maybe i should have left it sealed up....summers almost over. I think it was the ghetto caulking job that bugs me though. I'd rather just fix it right. I will do that though
  11. Just wondering how complicated a BOV is to install on a EJ22 Turbo, and if its worth the $$
  12. When I got my Legacy the sunroof was sealed shut with something that looked like black caulking. The owner said it stopped working so he just sealed it off. Today I decided I'd try and fix it and cut all the caulking out to find that it wasn't closed all the way and he had just sealed it while it was still open anyway, I tried to use it and nothing happened. I'm guessing the motor is toasted. Anyone have an extra?? Any other possibilities its something else?
  13. Yea it runs great. My problem is driving to fast. it's not that I constantly have it at redline or something, in fact I don't think I've had it at redline, but its so easy for me to mess around in that thing. Especially if its slick out, thats why i keep going through axles....in the long run i waste a lot of gas. If i drive normal it actually gets pretty good gas mileage...
  14. ok sounds good. I know for sure that the tick is lifter tick noise, and ill be sure to get that oil changed soon....gotta wait till payday
  15. Wow that is a huge difference. It gets bad enough as it is. About 19 in the city and 25 on the highway. As soon as that boost kicks in my gas needle just drops....
  16. I know its common for Subaru's to tick. I've owned a few and they always tick. My Legacy ticked a little at first, and then it went away and it hasn't been back for a few months. It just started up again a few days ago. I believe its because it needs an oil change, but I'm also worried my timing belts might be getting warn. Would a timing belt possibly cause this? A mechanic told me it wouldn't, but for some reason I still don't trust that. The last owner was saying it was due for a change.
  17. Well I replaced my front axle a few weeks ago, and I made a really stupid mistake. I didn't pinch the crown nut down tight enough over the axle. I may have called it the wrong name, but its the nut that basically holds the entire axle assembly together. It started to make a similar noise to what your describing at about 40, and so I quickly pulled off and popped the cover off the center of the wheel to find it barely threaded on. I may have misunderstood you, I wasn't sure if you meant you had changed an axle or not. If you have changed the axle, you may want to check that you pinched that nut down.
