  1. What are the benefits from the EA82T Regrinds?

Do you have those in stock or would i need to send them in and have mine reground?

We have had great reply to the 272/260 grind on those cams. stage 2 grind on the intake, and stage 1 on exh. Don't want a huge exh. profile or it will allow your cylinder pressure once fired to escape past the exh. valves.

Never have had a customer call back with dyno specs but they say about 10 -12% above stock

  2. These lil buggers are great stocking stuffers. I have two sets in stock ready to ship out today, Discount grind charge + $30.00 ea. core deposit then you get your core deposit back when you send in your old ones after the swap.

    1 set of torque grind

    1 set of street grind

first call first order, I will honor the discount for Christmas !

and you get lil candy canes Too ! !

  3. Hello,

I am finally getting around to getting the '85

GL I bought a year ago running. The person I bought it from said that he was driving down the freeway when it started to blow a lot of black smoke and lost power. He got off on the next exit and by the time he came to a stop it wouldn't run. Now it will turn over fine, but not fire. 1 or two of the cylinders make different sounds when it is being turned over. I am trying to figure out if I should just put a JDM in it or if it is worth doing an in-frame repair. Thanks for the replies.

easy way to check is to pull spark plugs and look for water or damage.

  4. I know this is for a different car but, I have an ea82 and want regrinds. I work at the end of the same building as Axle Transmission off M street (ive seen you guys pulling in before and talked to somone from Delta cam)

Can I just drop it off and pick it up? How much for ea82 cams?

    Thanks

    Jess

  6. I hope this helps more than offends.

Trust me when I tell you it will take a bit more to offend me ;) and I always appreciate HELPFUL advice.

As for asking for "make offer" amount. a $10.00 offer is an insult to a fellow Subie owner, sounds like a swap meet offer for a set of used ones !

PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER OVER $50.00

  7. I think those are going to be EA81 heads. But I will have to look at a set in my garage to be sure. If you could post a pic we could tell you instantly....

Incidentally - do you work for Delta Cam? Just curious....

Kevin, Lifters that run against the cam lobe should always be resurfaced or replaced, as in the EA81 engine. The followers that run against overhead camshafts should be inspected to make sure the following surface is free from wear.

The EA82 and EJ22 engines have nearly bullet proof cams and rockers and usually don't need replacing. We will inspect and resurface, if necessary, any rocker sent to us. Thanks, Jerry @ Delta Cams

"1. Always use new lifters when installing a new camshaft. The bottoms of the lifters are spherically convex ground, and the cam lobes are ground with taper. The mating of these two surfaces ensures that the lifter will rotate, thus reducing the chance of premature wear. If you install used lifters on a new or reground camshaft, early failure is almost certain."

That last part in bold is what bothered me. Everything on my XT6 is almost certain to fail. :-p Fortunately, it seems people here haven't had a lot (or any) problems with their new cam grind. Unfortunately, I wouldn't fit in the same category as there are no XT6 cam grinds available....yet. I just need balls big enough to be the guinea pig. *Thinking* ........*shaking*
