  1. + one for SJR I have an 86 GL with 4" lift and some 28" BFG's on 15' AA rims. I did have to do a little cutting, but nothing major. I run everything else stock and have no complaints except for it being even more underpowered, but that's what 2.2 's are for
  2. Would the price go down if I went in on the EJ swap?? or is it too late??
  3. Thanks for all the imput I feared that all the oil would have caked the inside of the engine and I would have to tear it down. I am going to check the car out tomorrow. It was not hit head on so I think the motor should be ok.
  4. I cam across a guy that rolled his 94 legacy and he said he would give me the whole car for 250 bucks. The only problem is, is that it landed upside down. So I am wondering is it worth 250? and how much work am I looking at because it landed upside down. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. I have a carbed 86 Gl wagon that has a pool of oil in the air box. I have done all the basics like replace all the 5/8" valve cover breather hoses, PCV valve, PCV breather filter, and PCV hose. All with OEM parts. I have emissions in a couple of months so capping vacuum lines is not an option right now. I was wondering what other lines could be causing this problem.
  6. For all of you who have lifted soobs, like me:headbang: , did you lower the rear diff at all ? I ask because my boot keeps slipping off and the guys at the shop said I should lower the diff, plus it would take some of the strain off the axles. I am running a AA 4" lift on an EA82 wagon. I am looking at getting the SJR 3" diff lowering kit but I am concerned about the 1" differance between the rear and front of the diff. Just curious if anyone is running with this set up, and how it is working out.
  7. I just got done lifting my 86 wagon with a 4" AA lift. I would suggest the SJR front strut blocks as the AA ones have a noticable camber to them. Also I am not sure where you got the steering extension, but mine was way too long and I had to have it cut and rewelded. Some guys suggested it might be because my car dose not have power steering. Other than that it all went real smooth and it sounds like the guys have covered everything else to be aware of. Happy lifting!!!
  8. So I have lifted the soob I am facing a rather tough decision on what size tire to put on the AA 15x6 rims. It seems since they are so narrow I can only get a 29" swamper. Or, I could get a nearly 28" BFG for about 50 bucks morea tire. I have done alot of reading on the subject and I want to know how much cutting or beating would be required to fit on those 29's. Could anyone who has done this please let me know because I am itch'n to head up to the hill.
  9. I have a manual steering. Luckly I have found someone at my work who can cut and weld it for me, so I think I will be on the road next week.
  10. Could one of you guys measure the steering extension piece for and EA82 4" lift please. I need to rule out the possibilty that I am wrong and get and idea of what length I am going to need. Thanks
  11. I must have got some crappy kit from them because they gave me six of the same size bolts for the tranny x member, so I had to go to Ace Hardware and get the right bolts myself. As for calling them up, I did, and they said that they were too busy to help me out right now and I should have some buddies come and look at it. So I am not very happy with the service I have recieved and I still have a car that I cannot move out of someone elses garage with no options except to cut and weld, which is going to cost me.
  12. I spent the better part of the day installing the 4" lift from AA only to find out when I put the stearing shaft in that is was about 1.5 inches too long Has anyone else had this problem?? What can I do about it?? Other than that, the soob is looking beastly:headbang:
  13. I like the style. Also, are you going to make a rear bumper? What size is the pipe in the picture? Any chance you might add some mounting spots for some lights?
  14. The clutch was replaced about two years ago so it should be ok. The sound is not constant and there is no vibration, so I am thinking it is not the bearings. Also, the sound dose not get worse when turning, it is constant under all conditions. I will check out the motor mounts and tranny. Thanks for you help guys
  15. I will check out the main pulley but I do not think that it has anything to do with the engine itself. The sound only occurs when accelerating from a dead stop or going very slow and accelerating. It dose not matter if I am turning or going straight. Once on the roll everything is normal. It dose not make the sound if I let the it roll down a hill from a stop with the engine running or not. It is a manual tranny and has no problems at all. It shifts in a out of gears smoothly. As for the sound, it is not high pitched at all. It sounds like a dull grinding poping noise from the front end. Thanks for the tip on the crankshaft pulley. I will check it out this weekend.
