  1. Note to self.......replace vacuum lines. If a vacuum line gets old, hard, and unflexible, lets just replace it. I know it's frustrating sometimes to stop what your doing and make a seperate trip to the vacuum line store but, it is so much easier working with new lines than old ones. This lesson was refreshed for me last night as I struggled for 40 minutes in the cold trying to make old hard hoses fit. a quick trip and 5 dollars later, parts slid on like warm butter.

  2. ok rust is the usual cosmetic sooby spots. rear fender wells have nice sized holes, the rocker panels are gone. decent amount of surface rust inside door wells (buffable)

one spot on the frame has the beginnings of a rust hole where the mustache bar connects across the rear left frame rail. that is everything.

  3. Ok I am a native east coaster. I am considering moving out west......and I do love subaru's.........I am interested in learning which location is the subaru mecca? I adore working on them and I would enjoy being close to parts and fellow people that drive them. particularly the ea81's 4x4's......thanks!

any advice would be nice.........I work in forensics/science labs so an area of gainful employment in that sector would be necessary too!

  4. well I happen to like the white wagons too, but I probably won't lift it, lights maybe, lift not my style......I appreciate and enjoy the stock ride height :D thanks for the compliments tho!

Peace gang.........also if anyone wants to make some money, I am in the market for two auto to 5 speed swaps..........so I am willing to pay someone for all the parts they can salvage/find......let me know peoples :)

one is ea82 the other is ea81....I hear talk of a guy named jerry that can make a kit for the ea81 5 spd d/r.......I a may need this fella.

  5. Every had a working solenoid that just broke due to brittle plastic or rough handling? ever wondered about a halfassed solution to still utilize that functional egr solenoid and prevent those NOx gasses from escaping into our environment. these pics below illustrate a cheap remedy from household items to fix that broken nipple off your egr solenoid

  6. I wonder, if you are concerned with the CEL, and egr solenoid removal.......could one just complete the circuit in the spot where the plug was? would that fool the ecu to think proper solenoid is present? or here is a thought........resistance is suposed to be about 39ohms, I wonder if you completed the circuit with a 39 ohm resistor.....would that fool the ecu ?

  7. yes I agree, we need to cooperate and do all that we can to voice the presence of a need for this platform. We need that design in the US of A. I believe it is truely inspirational. Look for small diesels in america,.......they practically don't exist. We need them to exist with a noticable presence. and especially the key things you hit on, awd or 4x4.....I personally would prefer a part time 4x4 system like the early roo's but hey, I'll take what I can get at this point.

spread the word folks........lets let our desires be known......subaru boxer turbo diesel please!!!!!!!
