  1. 3-4 cranks is natural when the engine is cold. First cranks is natural when it's hot. As far as the reason, I'm not certain, but I would guess that there's still fuel vapor in the cylinder when it's hot, where-as when it's cold, the fuel vapor has returned to a near liquid form, thus not as easily combustible, and has to wait until there is fresh vapor in the cylinder before it can ignite.
  2. From what I hear, this was a blast last weekend. This weekend is bad for me though, so if it happens again, I'm interested.
