  1. I do not know if your Outback is like my Legacy. I was having a problem with climate control in the car. Before the weekend, the A/C was blowing 40 degrees air than my parents visit me and they try out the car. It was then blowing very warm air, which was making me mad. Today, I was messing around with the climate controls and eventually got my 40 degrees air blowing on me. Right now, it is set to A/C and Auto, which is how I got my cool blowing air.
  2. hmmm.....unless it is just a simple oil change, I always take my Subaru vehicles to the dealership for their service. In the last 9 years, I have taken my Subaru Outback to 3 dealerships (1 in Colorado and 2 in Oregon) for its service and I always get excellent service but these 2 states are Subaru central. My Legacy is brand new so it has not been to the dealership for its service, just for answers. They know more about these cars better than most people because work on Subaru cars day in and day out. In terms of your Outback, I am sorry that you are having troubles with it.
  3. I will have to agree with you on that the colors have been boring. However, I still get compliments about the Newport Blue color on mine. When I went shopping to replace my Outback, the color of this car caught my eye.
  4. It is too bad that occurred. Glad that you are alright. A deer almost hit me this past week in the residential area of town but I stopped very fast when I saw it.
  5. I did that while I lived in Boulder because one time, another car that looked like mine was parked next to it. You can have a window sticker that matches your interests.
  6. It is either an invasion or a "Subaru virus" that hard to get rid of once you got it. Once you get your first one, you need to have another....just like potato chips. :-p I wanted to have both of my Subarus but I knew that I would not be able to afford it.
  7. I almost got a used WRX but I went to my insurance agent to find out how much it would be. My bit of research and homework quickly changed my mind because not only the price of gas was going to be higher than my Outback but also the insurance.
  8. that would be another question for the service & parts department. I am not used to the extra acceleration, in fact, I barely touch the accelerator.
  9. I know that some of the new WRXs do but I am not sure about mine, at least I have not found it yet.
  10. The issue is resolved. Yes, I took a bite with the car but if I am enjoying is that all what matters? I just have to remember to leave slightly $100/month for gas.
  11. A sales person at the regional Subaru dealership has a GT and he recommended that I reset it after fill up. I moved to using Intelligent or automatic. When I am out running errands, I try to do 3-4 at a time. Your gas price for your WRX is higher than mine....I am at ~$4.11 at the moment.
  12. That is very true....I am on my 2nd one and I will not go with any other manufacturer when I had a choice.
  13. It is not good to assume things until you really know. I figure it out so no need to....The break in period is approximately 1000 miles. The average MPG is over 500 miles is correct. But it was driven in Beaverton, Oregon before I got it. All I need to do is reset after each refilling my gas tank. Right now, the average is 18.2 MPG and that is going over a distance 20 miles. In terms of fuel type, I have to use Premium level and no lower. My car is turbo-charged.
  14. I had a 2000 Outback Limited and I never had a problem with it. The cars that you are interested in are both nice.
  15. I am 5'8" and I am almost touching the ceiling with my Legacy 2.5GT when I drive it. I wanted a WRX but the insurance was too high. Plus, it was very difficult to get a WRX with an automatic transmission. My ex-boyfriend, who was 6'6", used to drive my Outback and he did alright if he pushed the seat back.
  16. I am not carrying any load. I am not expecting much (35 mpg) but the mileage seems to be low and that is why I am slightly concerned. If it gets to 35 for a moment or two, that is great. In terms of the gas pedal and my foot, I am very light on the accelerator. I will still give the regional dealership a call and ask them.
  17. Thank you....yesterday, it was at 13.2 and the day before it was at 12.7 at least according to the computer. I also have to remember that my town in Oregon is very small.
  18. I have had the car for 3.5 weeks. I have driven it for 280 miles....it was driven 150 miles before I got it. I have filled it 2.5 times. The car holds 14.5 gallons of premium gas. I might still talk to the service department at the regional Subaru dealership.
  19. I am getting my average MPG from the car's computer, which is averaging 13.5 MPG. I drive the car in automatic or the sport sharp mode. I rarely put it in sport or intelligent mode.
  20. how would it be related to my right foot except I know it is on my gas pedal?
  21. I just bought a '08 Legacy 2.5GT Limited and it is not meeting the MPG levels on the window sticker. It says that it is suppose to be 18 MPG/24 MPG (city/highway). However, I am averaging 13 MPG. But sometimes, it reaches 35 MPG when I am driving...I wonder what would be the problem. Maybe it might be that the engine needs some running time... any other ideas on what is going on?
