  1. My '78 GF; first day I bought it. Still not running as of yet...but it's a WHOLE lot closer than it was.
  2. I have a '78 GF that I'm currently in the process of restoring from having an engine fire, and the wiring harness was so far gone I didn't think it was worth saving. Long story short, it's got a new wiring harness from a 1978 BRAT, and there are a couple of plugs that don't line up. There's one that I feel I could make work pretty easily in the BRAT harness that runs back to the brake lights of the car, but the one that is causing issue is (and forgive me for lack of the proper technical term) the long black plug-in that is 2 rows high and 15 or so across... With the BRAT harness for the dash, it leaves that end of the plug clear on the other, wrong side of the car where the other end (connected to the original harness that runs through the rest of the car) is sitting. I don't know of a way to get this to adapt offhand without cutting and splicing in some fashion all those wires (which I really don't see myself doing) and I was wondering if anyone had a harness (the one that goes through the dash, and into the engine bay) they would be able to sell me. Shipping isn't an issue...if you've got a harness I'll pay whatever shipping and then some for gratitude. I hope this explaination hasn't been TOO confusing to read...and any advice that may help me be able to still use the dash wiring harness from the brat would be more than appreciated. Thanks, Jim
  3. I saw a post of yours about a '73 Coupe restoration and caught that you said you may have rear glass for it. I'm wondering if you may happen to have a floorboard, trunk lid and/or a hood I could purchase from you. I'm in the works on a '76 GF restoration myself and those are the body parts I need most. Thanks,

    James

  4. Yeah...there's about 2/3 of a bed there but that's going to be fixed soon. There's another brat sitting as a parts car that he's going to rob the bed off of. Weld, sand, etc...the body man will take care of the rest of it. And yeah I'm in NC north of Concord.
  5. Hi I'm James and I have a Subaru problem.... wait....wrong meeting. Anyway I'm new here, and failed to notice this thread before the 'historic Subaru' thread. So I posted there first...whoops. Anyway, I got introduced here by Subaru3 and I like the layout of the site. Hope I can talk Subarus with you guys soon. Jim
  6. First off...my apologies for no pictures at the moment... But I just recently acquired a 1980 Subaru BRAT from my mechanic that he and I are going to restore completely. It needs a bed and a piece of floorboard on the driver's side but apart from that it's in pretty good shape. It doesn't run at the moment for several reasons... It's been sitting a while, probably 10 years if not more, and there's no battery under the hood. That alone could be a problem but the interior is in rather good shape...save for a coat of paint and a bit of mold on the ceiling but that's an easy cleanup. And, if anyone is reading this near Salisbury NC then I would like to inform you that he has a 1976 Subaru there as well. It's just chilling...nobody is going to use it and I was going to restore it until I ran across the BRAT. It's a GF Coupe, 5 Speed, standard with a 1400CC engine but a 1.6 or 1.8 will fit with very minor modification. Again, I wanted to get it fixed but...well, I'm a college kid...no money. Contact me if you're interested...I still REALLY want to see it on the road again as well.
