My 99 Forester's ABS hadn't worked for about a year untill yesterday. It started working after I pulled the fuse and put the fuse back in. Today ABS is not working again. The abs light is not on. Any thoughts?

Problem solved, it was the rotors. I put new rotors on, vibration is gone. This car must be balance sensitive. Who would have thought!!!!! Thank you all for the help!!!

The vibration started immediately Vibrates when brakes are not applied vibration is only noticable at highway speed.

I just replaced the front pads and had the roters turned on my 99 Forester, now I have a slight vibration in the steering wheel. It feels like I have a tire out of balance. What would cause this?????

Yes, it does have the spin-on filter and yes i checked the level with the engine hot and in park. The small leak I had before has gotten worse, I guess I better get some of that fluid out of there. Thanks for the info, Tim

What if any damage can result from having to much transmission fluid. I changed my fluid and overfilled it by about a quart. I have a 99 Forester. Tim

I have a 99 Forester with 106000 miles, should I change the fluid? I see a drain plug on the pan and a filter next to the pan. Is draining and changing the filter advisable???

My system is not acting normally, I have had this car for a number of winters I know how it reacts. The system is not working at all!!!

I have a 99 Forester with ABS. This past winter I noticed while driving in snow that the brakes locked up on slick roads. My local garage, not a subaru dealer, ran the codes and found nothing. The abs light is not coming on. The subaru dealer wants $85 dollars to diagnose the problem. I figure I have all summer to try and fix it myself. Any suggestions as to where to start???? Murphsubaru

I have a 99 Forester with abs that is not working. Local garage checked for codes and found nothing wrong. ABS light does not come on when the ignition is turned on, I believe this indicates a problem. Any solutions would be aprecieated.

What are the chances of a timing belt breaking???? I have a 99 Forester with 98,000 miles, according too Subaru the belt should be replaced at 105,000 miles. Should I replace it at 105,000 or chance it??? I believe this is an interferance engine.

Yes, a vehicle that doesn't have brake problems, bad bearings , or bad alignment is pulling because of the tires. Radial pull can occur when one of the belts inside the tire slips.

My tires are so noisy that I thought I had bad wheel bearings.

I have Goodyear Regatta II tires on my Forester. I have had a lot of problems keeping these tires balanced and inflated. Also, I have had a problem with radial pull. The inflation problem is a result of bad rim seals. These tires now have 50,000 miles. Anyone have regatta II tires????? Have you had many problems????
