So, we are tryin to pull the trans out of our 03 wrx (long story) and are having trouble getting it to separate from the engine block. We followed the book and from what it says, we should be able to just slide it right out....but its not budging. Any suggestions...or think we may have missed something?

Hey guys..hoping you can help me out or at least give me some advice... I have an 03 WRX 2.0 5spd and am pretty sure I broke a tooth off 2nd gear. After shopping around for rebuilds and what not, I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and spend the extra cash to get a 6spd tranny for her. I plan on doing lots of mods in the future, trying to get her over 400hp...and from what I have heard, the tranny we have in it, is barely going to be able to hold 380hp once we get there. So, is it a safe bet to say we should shop around for a 6spd and do the swap now? Also, does anyone have a 6spd for sale or can you direct me to a place where I can get one for a sweet deal?

...anyone....? I only ask becasue since I've owned the car I haven't done a tranny flush, not even sure if the previous owner ever did. Plus, I've been having trouble shifting and it seems like maybe flushing the tranny and putting fresh oil in it will fix the prob....but I need to know what kind of oil...

K, so I googled the issue and came up with several different suby msg boards discussing the same exact problem. They all said they fixed the problem by taking out the ABS fuse if you are mainly driving on dry surfaces but if you end up going up to the snow or where its rainy, its a good idea to put the fuse back in. Someone else had said the ABS sensor in their suby went bad after they did some work on the back end and messed up the sensor, so he had to replace it in that case. I didn't see anything about the senor being recalled...but I'm still researching! At least I have a temporary fix...

When I was driving the other day, getting on the highway (at about 35mph), I started to slow down to turn right and went over a bump in the road. Right after the bump, (with the brakes still applied) it felt kinda like the ABS was kicking in, yet I wasn't SLAMMING on the breaks for it to kick in. It also gave me this weird sense that the back-end was floating but felt the repeated thud that you get in the brake pedal when ABS is kicked in. Anyone know what is causing this? I'm thinking something has to be worn out back there, but can't think of what it could be...any suggesstions??

Weird I didn't notice the pinkish color under the hood. I don't like that. I wouldn't mind the over-spray in the wheel well....some black spray paint will fix that right up. Oooh that Grand national is verrry niiiice. If you are lookin for one, my man works for an antique salvage yard here in AZ...rust free, collision free cars and parts... -

If you are talking about the red impreza wrx....I would definatly go with that one. That is a SMOKIN' deal!!! Happy bidding!!! -
I've been doing some looking around here, and a few posts but thought I should introduce myself... I'm Emily, I live in AZ and I drive a Subaru...WRX to be exact My boyfriend and I have always loved soobies, and were soo happy to finally have our own! We are really looking to find some other Soob enthusiasts in our area to hopefully get together with.

Welcome! I would definatly go with the Imprezza....but i'm a little bias since I own a WRX and I absolutely LOVE it. I do like to Legacy as well, but I haven't driven one before, so I can't speak on that. As far as maitenance goes, it is very easy to work on. Everything seems to be located in a good enough position, and so far with the mod's that we've done it was not difficult at all. We do all our own maitenance as well. Personally, I wouldn't purchase a car with over 80K miles on it..but it does depend on what yr the car is and the overall appearance and condition. Soobies are very strong cars, and seem to hold up pretty well when it comes to age, and wear. Hope that helps!! Oh and once you go AWD....you won't go back LOL:banana:
