  1. This I'd what I'm hoping for. I would like to just bring it in and smog it like it was an 87. Just hope the guy dont know its now obd 2.
  2. Received reverse switch and electric speedo sensor today. I still need the intermediate cord between speedo sensor and harness.
  3. Yeah true. Not sure if California is still doing the rolling 30?
  4. And the rest of that nonsense is for emissions, which I may need to get the rest of that stuff. Not sure yet how the smog nazis are going to treat this one.
  5. Here is a pic of the connector i am pulling the fuel temp wire from. I think its the blue/blk one.
  6. Hmm well I took a look at your spreadsheet and it seems like thats the wire I tried. Though I just used some aligator clips that dont always make a good connection. I will hard wire it and try that one again.
  7. Yeah $299 is pretty much what you find them for. I just happened upon this on Amazon, it was sold as a used item. I looked further and it seemed to only have a damaged box. So for the low low price of $228 plus tax I jumped on it.
  8. L/W/H 22"x6.3"x8.1" Its pretty darn heavy that's for sure, 94lbs. But for $248 shipped its what I'm runnin!
  9. Yeah I'm excited. Trying not to work on it till i finish the rally car that is being picked up in 6 days. So that makes me more anxious.
  10. Score! Saved $75 because of damaged packaging.
  11. Great progress, love the snorkel!
  12. I finally got tired of the rear hatch not staying up and ordered new struts. $32 for the pair from rockauto.
  13. Ok ill take a pic. The 03 i have here is a wrx. Nothing matched harness wise.
  14. Ice cold a/c. And still have left over horse power
  15. Awesome, thanks! You mentioned 99-03, i have an 03 in the garage, I'll check that one out and trace some wires to the temp sensor. Good idea! Other than that the only code i have is for emissions, but i don't have the 01 evap canister....yet. Thanks again for your help.
  16. Ahhh but the ea82 does have a temp sensor, at least mine does. I ran that wire up to the connector where i know the 01 wire should be, i just don't know which wire it is in the 01 harness.
  17. Tomorrow a brown truck will be delivering a 90lb package.....any guesses?
  18. Yes I put mine back. Sure it looks like it should be thrown away but with a little patience it is back in. About 6 years ago i pulled the headliner out of my 06 wrx to put the gps antenna in that cat and ran out of patience, to this day it still does not have a headliner. Now my wife drives the wrx and i hear about it every day.
  19. Its well worth pulling the headliner. I got the roll from Lowes. It is 6"x25' I could have used a little more but made that amount work. I took it for a test down a 14 mile washboard road and it was so different than the tin can I'm used to.
  20. Before After Rear qtrs All for around $17. This made a huge difference, no more tin can.
  21. I was actually going to ask you about the temp sensor. I don't have that hooked up yet, just the fuel level guage. I can't seem to locate the temp sensor wire in the 01 wiring. I printed out the fsm for the wiring but can't find it there either. Do you know which wire it is?
  22. Today will consist of pulling out the headliner again and putting some sound deadening stuff up on the roof. I already did the inners of the rear qtr panels. With the head liner out i can also run gps antenna wiring and seal up that hole.
  23. I got around to wiring the fuel guage today, and some how it seems to work
  24. You definetly know your electrical stuff. Since that's all Swahili to me i had to search for the other build i saw custom usb ports and i found out where he sourced them. Hope you don't mind me sharing that info here. cyclebots.com/power-accessories/isimple-12-volt-battery-to-5-volt-usb-charger.html I think I may have to get some.
  25. I was thinking that but with the placement so close to the side marker I'm not sure the outer lights will illuminate to the sides well. But just in case i need to switch i wired the plugs alike so it can be a quick fix.
