  1. Ive got a 97 legacy outback.. dk green.. i have 35% on the front two windows and 20% on the rest.. it looks really good.. costed about 170 with a life time guarentee.. turned out well cause after a while the window would scrape on the door as the seals hardened and so the tint scraped some.. took it back to the shop and they redid the window for me, so id definately reccomend getting a warrenty on it
  2. i pulled the spark plugs out and the #4 was in really bad shape, so replaced that... it ran decently.. still not well so i took it to the dealer, cylinder valves were corroded thanks for the help though, i appreciate it
  3. I had the same problem in my 97 legacy... valves in the 4th cylinder were corroded and had to be replaced to the tune of $700... what a bummer
  4. I have a 97 Legacy outback with 156k miles.. i was driving it from maryland to new jersey and it was running fine as soon as i slowed to pay a toll i felt the car start to shudder and the CEL started to flash at me when i dropped below about 30 mph the car ran horribly, shaking so badly that a drink in my cupholder was spilling, after the toll booth once i hit about 40 the CEL stopped flashing and stayed on steady and the car ran fine, no obvious power loss, next time i had to slow down for traffic the same thing happened, terrible running and flashing CEL so i pulled over and had the car towed... its just sitting there now, it starts slow, idles terribly and the CEL flashes until i rev the engine to about 3500 rpms then it stays on steady.. anyone have an idea before i go to the dealer?
  5. if you put the FWD fuse into an AWD car if u can tow it with the rear wheels down?
  6. Everything works fine, seat heaters, defrosters, lights, locks, only occasionally when i put the drivers window completely down the window motor will turn off and on, moving the window about a quarter inch up and down but putting the window up and back down fixes that. I had a CD player installed 2 weeks before everything started happening, but i havent had any problems with it working, so i dunno if thats whats doing it
  7. i never made it into the emissions test, i was waiting in line and i went to pull into the garage it stalled.. i have been trying different gas.. so far ive gone to a Wawa an Exxon and a Mobil (middle grade).. none have really acted differently... and put STP fuel treatment in with every other tank ( i thought it was a little excessive.. but the bottles say to use it in every tank)
  8. The best way to find a leak that i know of is to clear out the well, dry it off and cover all the surfaces with baby powder which will stick to the walls of the well, then next time it rains you can see the streaks left in the powder and they will lead you to your leak
  9. Ive got a 97 Legacy Outback that i bought in october '03 in late december '03 got a check engine light, as i drove it to the dealer the light went off, to be safe had it looked at anyway, they didnt find anything wrong. A few days later i went to get my emissions tested, i was there idling for about 30 minutes and as i drove up to the bay i had to stop once again, i put the car in park and when they waved me in, put it back into drive and the tachometer flipped out and the dash lit up like a christmas tree then the car stalled (all within about 5 seconds). Had the car jumped and drove it home without a problem, ran for 3 days without incident. After a big snow took the car out drove it about 10 miles and the CEL came back on so i drove it home, parked and turned the ignition off, came back 2-3 minutes later and the car wouldnt start, couldnt even jump it, had it towed and dealer said new battery and alternator, so i did that and the car ran well, drove it about 170 miles where it sat for about 2 weeks, drove it another 170 miles without a problem after 3 days of city driving the CEL came back on and now the dealer said it was a misfire in #4 cyl. code was cleared because the dealer couldnt reproduce it, a week later the CEL was back on, the car drove 170 miles without a problem and started up nicely for two days after that. car sat for about a week and now it wont start... any ideas?? i have none
