  1. Yeah sorry aboot that. and I used to love the smell of gas...
  2. At least now i know every last thing about this car now lol. Im glad its running!
  3. I replaced the tank today... and it runs great now. i used a tank off of a turbo wagon. But yeah it runs fantastic now.
  4. Sorry. No ive yet to get it running. I had it diagnosed and they told me it was the feul pump... so i replaced it. but while doing that i noticed that feul doesnt pour out of the flow line directly from the tank. So i removed the float and flashlit inside and. saw rust flakes, lots of em. So im thinking the in tank filter screen is sorta clogged and im planning on removing it and hopefully theirs an inspection hole besides the float hole... but i found another xt6 tank for 25$ so thats my plan... to think it may not have been a sensor issue makes me relieved but annoyed at the same time
  5. Ok I'll check that... that does make very good sense bc when i wiggle that wire it changes the idle all screwy i already took it out and cleaned the plug but i didn't think about the wiring within the insulation I'll mess with it after work and let y'all know. Thanks for the thoughts
  6. Plenty of spark and plenty of fuel... its a sensor issue im sure of it. the symptoms of a vss are almost the same as the tps. on a previous post i explained this hesitation issue and was told to test my tps. So I made the choice to just replace it and see if there's a change. So maybe "throwing parts at it" isn't the correct phrase. I've spent a lot if time under this hood and with the help of the fsm I norrowed it down to a sensor... or at least the communication between a sensor and the ecu. Its probably something simple and I will figure it out. but for now my code is for the vss and that's my next move so if anyone has one to part with id like to know Richard
  7. I've replaced the TPS and i still have my problem... now im moving on to the VSS... Its a dealer only part with 3 in the entire country. does anyone in the world have one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg??? Its for an 88 xt6 automatic
  8. I tried testing the tps... which prongs do i put the multimeter on to test?
  9. Im having some throttle issues now that I've gotten the xt6 running it seems like its choking out when I give it gas. its died a couple times but starts right back up I'm not sure if its timing or tps or bad fuel... the code I'm getting is for the car speed sensor would that cause this issue? and where is this sensor located? Also I'm unsure if its related but when its "choking out" the power light on the dash comes on but goes right away when I let off the gas... any thoughts would be helpfull thanks
  10. So i tried that... and it worked good so far. the gromet wasn't too dried or brittle. and i almost got it running
  11. Is the reservoir for the master cylinder the same as an ea82? I need to replace just the reservoir and reuse the master cylinder... and how easy is it to remove the reservoir from the master???
  12. Yeah i looked into it at a dealership and it already had the service done
  13. I just got an 88 xt6 and was wondering if the power steering was recalled that year
