  1. found a carb at the junkyard that looked relatively new. The old had to be replaced so I purchased and swapped the new one into the car. When driving the car feels better and has more power. However, the car wont stay idle and dies almost immediately. It also hesitates often. About the only time I can get it to idle for even a remote period of time is when I rev the motor around 4-5k. I sprayed carb cleaner around the hoses to check for vacuum leaks but couldn't locate any. Whats my next step? EA82
  2. So I scored a few things at the local junkyard. Center caps and outer rings for the wheels, a ski rack that mounts to the stock rack, and what appears to be a close to new carb. Well, out with the old carb and in with the new. Everything appears to be connected but she just isn't running right. I keep messing with the air/fuel mixture as well as the throttle. Occasionally I'll get her where she is running good as well as Idle. However, when I give it a lot of gas she dies. And then on out- the Idle wont continue until I continue to tweek things. The carb I purchased had one or two of the vacuum lines plugged where the old one had lines going to it. Sorry, I'm new to the subaru thing and appreciate all help. Thanks, -Ryan
  3. Thanks for the Info. The Weber is a good price ($60) but I haven't looked at it yet. Would it be crazy to assume not to spend any additional money if the carb was in good working condition when pulled? -Ryan
  4. I didn't think that there was such thing as an E85 motor and had told the seller that he might be thinking of an EA82 but he still believes its an E85. I had to come and check here just to make sure I wasn't the crazy one. As far as figuring out if the carb will work or not would it matter what '85 model that he pulled it from? Thanks, -Ryan
  5. I found someone selling a used weber online for a good price. I have an '87 GL Wagon w/ an EA82 motor that is in need of a new carburetor. The seller states that the weber came out of an '85 with a E85 motor. I'm not familiar with an E85 motor and wanted to know if this carb will work on my vehicle. Also, the carb comes with the adapter plate and throttle linkage. Is there anything else I will need? Any particular questions I should ask? Thanks, -Ryan
