  1. I echo these comments. I posted earlier about needing to replace my '99 legacy tranny due to severe lag in forward engagement - up to 30 or 45 seconds. Of course the dealer said i needed to replace . I added Trans X a week ago and the tranny works flawlessly and i have driven 2K so far !!!!! I am astounded:banana:
  2. Yes automatic...the problem is the 30 seconds to 1 minute delay when shirfting from Park to Drive (or 1 & 2) for car to move...dealer is convinced the transmission is shot and needs to be replaced...dealer says replacing the AT fluid would not help...?
  3. hey there ~ I'm new here - own a '99 Sub Legacy Outback, live north of Atlanta...tranny needs to be replaced ...slow getting into Drive...learning to park on a hill ..... but other than that 158K with new head gasket and driving good...Yes H82 refers to soild Dead shows i attended.. Bill
  4. suggestions for locating a decent used tranny? Of course try to get a warranty, but beyond that expect to pay $300-$600 excluding labor? I won;t pay $1500 for aamco...or dealer.. 2.5 DOHC thx Bill
  5. I get my 1999 Subary serviced at the Gwinnett Subarau dealership, at least fairly accurate diagnosis, got my head gaskets replaced there.
