  1. does using my 85 GL hatch as a DD and putting 18,000 miles on it in 4 months count? had 153,xxx mi when i bought it for 500 bucks now has 171xxx i think i got my $$ worth ..only problem has been replacing aftermarket axles every month:-\
  2. the temp runs right below half, i have new accel coil, wires, cap, rotor, ngk plugs, timing at 10 deg, i figure it was good for the high elevation 5000 ft , i drive 4hrs straight with the light on, ive had this car about 4 months and put on about 17,000 miles, it had 153,000 when i got it, i have the car floored 4hrs straight and average 77 -82 mph at 3500 rpm thats all i can get out of her, and when the hills hit it drops to 50-55 mph then shift to 3rd, its a 4 speed, and head winds dont help,
  3. i've searched ,but didnt find anything about the ECS light on the dash, in the book it says its the (ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM) I QUOTE FROM THE OWNER'S MANUAL," The ECS light will go on when the ignition switch is turned "ON". After the engine starts, it should go out , indicating that the system is operating properly. If the light remains on while the engine is running, possibly something is wrong with the electronic engine control system. so contact your nearest SUBARU dealer as soon as possible." i have a 85 gl hatch and my light comes on like clockwork every day and at the same time , just about 10 min from start up to driving , i have new temp coolant sensor , i thought it was temp related , because it seems it comes on everytime about when the thermostat would open up ,around that time the light would come on and stay on. any suggestions? i dont have clue what it means, thanks ,sorry if its been covered and i overlooked it
  4. thanks, do you guys put tips on the glass packs, turn downs or anything else?also, i was a victim of trying to hook up an 90's chevy two wire horn thats case grounded????? instead of the two small horns , searched a little and found a couple things,it sounds nice and loud even louder than my dodge ram like the old cars but cant hook it up without arching off metal, when i go to mount it, do i need a relay or a different year model ,older two wire car horn, or just abandoned the whole idea alltogeather, i read our horns deliver 12 v with no relay, and the horn on the steering wheel gounds it, just dont have the money for the hella supertones yet, and what makes them work on our cars and not the older other horns?? i thought about mounting it without touching metal, but to me the horn acts like a live circuit, little sketchey to me. thanks
  5. so i have a summit catalog sitting in front of me and was wondering, besides the cherrybombs, and thrush, has anyone used a hedman hedders glass pack,or summit brand, are you getting what you pay for? oh yeah i have an 85 gl hatch 4wd, and want to replace just the muffler, ive searched and im leaning toward a thrush but was also looking at the hedmans, maybe a thrush 2 chamber muffler, i dunno, and which is louder a shorter glasspack or longer , and what about the diameter of it? thanks
