Project Ruby Sue 86' Hatch
Love the hatch, I have one as well in Michigan. Not sure how much you care about having a CD player bit a lot of companies are making "mechless" audio players for cars... they don't have a cd drive and if I remember correctly a CD player sits about and inch or so out of the dash to clear the hvac vents. They look much nicer in the dash and most have sd card slot, USB slot and auxiliary plug in so if you really wanted to listen to cds you can run a portable player into the aux. hope this helps

Hi there, I'm the guy from Michigan you talked to.... you said you were going to e mail me pictures and such when we spoke on the phone last but I haven't received anything from you. Looks like plenty of people have you covered, sorry I couldn't help

A lifetime if properly taken care of- Hello from Canada
I've found that most Subarus just push compression into the cooling system with little or no mixing, easiest way to tell is if the coolant overflow is bubbling. Chances are you wont need head gaskets quite yet.. Dealerships just want your money and they will just replace them with the same faulty factory ones. Most of the time they won't machine the heads or even clean them very well. In all fairness it is an EJ25 and it will most definitely need head gaskets at some point.- First high school horizontal auto project
Depending on your timeline and such a 2 inch lift is a lot less in depth than a 4 inch, However a 4 inch is the way to go if you have the time. You can stress the axles about 2 inches which can be accomplished with strut/coil spacers. The 4 inch lift you will have to drop the front subframe and rear differential and lengthen the steering shaft. When I did mine I also found I had to space the shift linkage down ( you could trim the body slightly too) as well as the carrier bearing on the driveshaft. I'm sure there are a few more tweaks I'm forgetting about but it's been a while since I've done it.- Hello from Canada
Is the external leak the only problem? Any overheating? The single layer gaskets from the factory aren't the greatest and a bit under torqued. Six star make great MLS (multi layer steel) replacements for the head gaskets. Almost all aftermarket replacement head bolts are junk. You are way better off re-using the old head bolts, I've done many many head gaskets this way with no issues. However if you do replace them use factory or ARP only. I recommend timing belt with new components and water pump at this time along with factory thermostat. Any other questions lmk- Thinking about a meet in northern Michigan
All the michigan people out there, trying to get a plan together for a meet up in northern Michigan within the next few weeks. We had a Subaru parade here a few years back and it was a lot of fun but unfortunately we haven't had something like that in a while ( at least not that I'm aware of). I will update with more info soon. Anyone interested please contact me.- 97 impreza dohc swap need help please!

Please Going to run codes today at the shop today and figure out exact code - First Subaru 1980 1600 GL Wagon
