  1. Hi, I picked up a 2.2 engine from a 1995 Legacy L, 2 wheel drive. From the research I've done I should have no problems putting it in my 1995 Legacy all wheel drive. Correct? Both cars are 1995. one is FWD one is AWD. I have the engine in my garage right now, it has 66,000 miles. Should I check or do anything to the engine while it's out of the car. I see no oil leaks. Thanks for any help Dan
  2. Thanks guys, I was able to bend the lock washer out of the way. The washer seemed to be holding the tie-rod from losening. I was able to fit a big wrench 1 and 1/4 on the tie-rod to break it lose.
  3. Hi, I need help removing the inner tie-rod on a 95 Legacy AWD auto. I've got the outer tie-rod off and the boot covering the inner tie-rod off. How do I knock the lockwasher out or off before trying to loosen the tie-rod? Thanks, any help would be great. I did see the other post but I don't have that special tool and it didn't say anything about removing the lock washer. Dan
  4. Thanks, yes it has the electronic speedo sensor. They want $100 for one at auto zone. I want to make sure it is the culprit before I buy it. This 95 Legacy has 2 speed sensors. I have to figure out which one is no good. Dan
  5. 95 Legacy AWD Auto, everything works in the instrument cluster except the speedo. I tried 2 other clusters, one from a 95 and one from a 96. Still no speedo working. It does show a CEL. 110,000 miles. Could it be the vehicle speed sensors? I'm going to test the sensor with the drill like the other post recommended. Any other ideas? Thanks Dan
  6. My 95 doesn't have ABS, but thanks for all the info. I'm going to the bone yard Monday to get some parts.
  7. Will a steering knuckle from a 1990 Legacy fit a 1995 Legacy? Both AWD both automatics. Thanks
  8. thanks, the key isn't that bad. Just rounded a little on one side. Theres a 1990 AWD auto Legacy in my local junkyard. Will the crank pulley work on my 95?? Thanks again
  9. It's an automatic, it's a right hand drive for postal also. I use it to deliver mail. And I need the AWD for the deep sandy roads down here. I forgot to ask how to replace the key.
  10. Thanks guys, great info. I was hoping to just get a new pulley (it got most of the damage) and bolt it on real tight to the crankshaft. I could use lock tight. Whats the most torque I can give the bolt?
  11. Hi, I have a 1995 Legacy AWD 2.2. Need to know which model years 2.2 will bolt right in. Will a 2.2 in a 1990 fit? Did they use the same exact 2.2 for a bunch of years? The crankshaft pulley bolt came lose and damaged the crankshaft key. Is the key replacable. Thanks for any help.
  12. I changed both front wheel bearings and my gas mileage went from 17 to about 25 mpg 95 AWD Legacy. Guess they were dragging.
