  1. Reading your original post I have to ask this question. If the guage jumped to hot as soon as it started are you sure it's not the guage itself? Is it actually overheating or is the guage just indicating that it's overheating? Just a thought. Good Luck
  2. I am thinking either strut problem: not dampening or broke mount or seperated belt in the tire. just guessing. Hope you get it fixed and don't get stuck for too long.
  3. Hello everyone, my name is Louie, I own a 1991 Loyale I have named Rubie. I live in Hillsboro, Oregon, play music and surf alot. I have already recieved some help from some members here and am looking forward to some of the Subie events and makeing new friends as I work on my Rubie. Louie's Subie Rubie....say that ten times fast. lol. Feel free to befriend me especially if you are from my area and thanks to those that have already given me advice.
  4. My Rubie (1991 Loyale, 1.8, 4wd, 5 sp.) has 220,056 original miles. Runs like a champ with the exception of a little lifter noise now and then and hitting the deer at 45mph took out the AC. She did overheat one day coming back from seaside just before the summit on a hot summers day but I think I have that figured out. She does fine on the flat, sips gas and is a good old gal that treats me right.
  5. Hi Indrid, I was wondering if you knew any of the Robinson clan there in Kennewick. Skip and Pat Robinson. The kids are (not kids anymore) Troy, Jeff, Tonya and Tracy. I have been to the Hydro races and the County Fair more times than I can count. Pat and Skip live right across the street from the fairgrounds. Just wondering. Thanks for your imput on my castle nut problem, that was very useful info. Happy Easter.

  6. Welcome, looks like a BBQ gone bad. lol I am from Hillsboro, what part of the PNW are you from?
  7. Thanks for the great imput GD I will be getting that tool soon. Also when you go to the yard if you come across a hood that is the same color as my 91 Loyale (maroon) please let me know at broncolouie@gmail.com or 971-244-2501. Thanks again GD

  8. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I really appreciate it. I will try these tomorrow and see how it goes. I will take some pics and document this process. and will also get to Discount Import Parts and buy that tool, thanks DG. Thanx Indrid Cold "Lefty Loosie" for the great ideas.
  9. I am trying to replace the front inside CV boot and can not get the castle nut loose. This is on a 91 Loyale 1.8, 5sp, 4wd. Is this possibly a left hand thread? I am useing a 1/2" drive 36mm socket and a breaker bar, with a prybar through the studs for the lugnuts to keep the hub from turning and have gone as far as putting a jack under my breaker bar and still it will not break loose. HELP!!! it's my daily driver and surfmobile and I need to get Rubie back on the road ASAP. Thanks for any advice I get. Love this site and my Rubie. I am new here.
  10. Hi GD, I am in a quandry and need a little advice. I am new to USMB, I am trying to replace a front inner CV joint boot on my 91 Loyale,1.8, 5spd, 4wd, and can not seem to get the castle nut off to remove the hub. Maybe I have overlooked something, the cotter pin is out but even with a breaker bar and a jack under it I can not get this castle nut loose. Is this possibly a left hand thread or is it really on that tight. Specs say 145 Ft/Lbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks GD
