i have a 1994 subaru impreza with a ej18 in it atm. and it has an oil leak ive been trying to find it, and have replaced many gaskets in the process including the valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket, and although both those gaskets needed replaced, they did not stop the leak, made it leak less yea, but it still leaks, i looked under the car and noticed that it looked like the oil was coming out of the bottom of the timing cover, i could be wrong, but i was wondering if there was anything behind that timing cover that could possibly leak oil, also, the oil is somehow running all the way down the oilpan onto the cross member and onto the y bend on the exhaust where it then starts to smoke, which is one of the real reasons i want to fix the leak. im eventually going to put some lucas stop leak in it but i would like to try and fix the leak before i do that. thats like a last resort kind of thing. im stumpped i have no idea where it could be leaking from, although i know there is probably a number of places that it could be leaking from, ill take some pics so you can see from my point of view, ill post them in a little while, thanks guys

nah i havent ordered the engine yet, thats why i was wondering if i should just get this one. this one looks promising because it has everything all ready to drop it in. so i might just end up getting this, that way i have an extra trans.

now im just hoping i can win the bid on the damn thing lol

cool, thats not to far off either, i live in central washington. and im gonna try to get him to go down on that ecu because theres an OBO offer, so i offered him 250, which wouldnt be to bad, that 550 that hes trying trying to get for it is way over priced

im putting a jdm ej20T from a 1994 subaru gc8 in my 1994 impreza, i was wondering if this will require replacing the ecu, if so, could someone link me to a site to buy one? ive looked but could not find one, im pretty sure i have all the other part i need, i bought the whole front end of a gc8, well up to where the firewall starts, the firewall is not intact and theres no dash parts, but i dont really need those, anyway, yea was just wondering. if anyone knows please help, it would save me time trying to match up the pins if i can just get away with replacing the whole ecu

hey i have a 1994 subaru impreza, and im trying to figure out what the max rim size, tire size, or how much it has to be offset, i just got some 17 inch rims and i didnt think they where going to fit because they where so wide but i didnt even get far enough to check because although they wher 5 lig like my subie has they where a larger size 5 lug, and even though they wher universal they still didnt fit on either sets of holes, so i was a little bummed and now im just going to buy new rims but i want to know what the max would be first so i dont buy somthing that doesnt fit and have to send it back, its been one thing after another with this subaru, i just had to put a new clutch in and it was a pain, never the less i still like my subaru and want to put money into modding it, can anyone help plz? thank you

my dads 1991 subaru legacy has a lifter tick, we were wondering if there is an easy way of fixing this problem of if we will have to get more in depth, i believe the engine is an ej22 not to sure though

oh and is a 98 a bad year of ej25? because i think thats the year of engine i was gonna go with, im just mostly looking for somthing with more power than the 1.8L, and i havent been able to find a turbo kit for the ej18 plus i didnt really want to put a turbocharger on on my tired ej18 anyway im sure it would fail horribly lol, so if you recommend the ej22 i might just go with that because im pretty sure i could find a turbo kit for that, plus its a general increase in power compared to the ej18 so i might do that, is the ej22 easyer to put in than the ej25?
