When I hit a deer the first week I had my 88' the fender got pushed in, we went to a JY and the guy didnt listen to us that the bumper had to come off to take the fender off, he almost dismantled the whole front end before taking the bumper off, its a matter of simple knowledge combined with ease of parts that makes these cars great to drive and work on...

So if i get this right i would need to get the whole car, beings i would need rear diff and the axles and such, I just need to know what its going to take to put it in and make it run. Thanks for the info and if nothing else i will pick it up and hook someone up on the board. -
It just so happens I've come by the situation to pick up a rolled 2003 WRX STi and I was wondering if i could get some speculation on what it would take to put that motor into my 1988 Gl wagon... just a thought beings that picking up the motor, trans, ECU, and Wiring Harness for $500 doesnt seem to bad, thanks in advance for any speculation and feedback on this Idea.

When I went up to go a local lake to go find some mud I decided to take some trails just for fun driving. Well while checking the car for the ride down home I had lost a hub cap, not a really big deal car just looks funny, well we went up and down all travel'd trails and couldnt find it, so lesson learned: Remove Hub Caps when your going to go have fun... Just thought i'd share

I've read the threads on toybuilders EA82T Rebuild and was just wondering because neither me or my dad has done a subaru rebuild, so do you replace the cylinders? Could someone give me a list of things that are done, such as which parts to replace along w/ rebuild such as water pump... oil pump... etc.. thanks again guys for your help and suggestions

When we picked up our 83' gl wagon it wouldnt shift into 3rd at all, at 210k on it we decided replacing the tranny w/ a used 4spd (which is what it had originally) would do just fine and it did, just my 2 cents

I drive an 88' Gl Wagon, i could just go with the EA82T? My motor is fuel injected, could you give me definition of MPFI and SPFI, does this include the entire motor or just the fuel injection system? Sorry, i'm only 16, still learning, thanks again, also i'm just looking for suggestions and i do have to call the guy in the next couple days... -
Ok heres the deal, the heads on my current ea82 motor are cracked and cause the car to heat up, we were going to go w/ used heads and the guy said we could but the entire motor for $110, if i'm going to replace the entire motor why not ask if they have something bigger? What will fit my current 5spd d/r tranny and components, such as ac, alt, etc... ? Quick responses would be nice and oh my parents will be in the region of picking it up this weekend... Thanks in advance for you quick response and any help given

WagonBoy replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
calebz, should I replace the Alternator after checking all connections and problem persists? I could probably order one from NAPA or go to JY, which is my best bet? -

I drive an 88' gl WAgon dual range 4wd, and i have this problem, but it only seems to happen when everything else is tweaking at the same time such as the volt meter, speedo sticks, gas guage says it fuller than it is, the temp guage fluxes mostly on the hot side and the clock is dimming and lighting up and changing times randomly, can anyone diagnose this?
