  5. Hello. I have an '84 4x4 Hi/Lo Wagon lately i have been having troubles in third gear and only third gear. It will not seem to go into gear without grinding. Is this a common problem? Havent found much through the search button. Any tips or recomemndations on the matter? Thanks.
  6. Hey Jerry. Sounds like your the man to talk to about the 5 speed swap. I have a few quick questions. First, It sounds like i can use a EA81 Flywheel, does that mean i can still use my EA81 clutch and pressure plate? Second, What else is needed to do the swap?, EA82 Trans, EA82driveshaft, EA82 crossmember (?), EA81 pressureplate, EA81 Flywheel, Am i missing anything?

  7. When Running clutch in of course, Parked, I can put the car into any gear. When not running clutch in or out, Parked, I can put the car into any gear. What does that tell me?
  8. Hello, I have an '84 GL Wagon 4Hi/Lo. Heres my problem, when I shift into 3rd, whether going up or down through the gears it will grind. If i really push the shifter forward it kind of catches into gear. This is a new problem and my only car. So help me out please. Are the synchros going out? Or what is my problem? Thanks in advance. John
  9. How well do the Tires on your '88 that you posted on the photoshop thread do?

  10. Has anyone tried these in a 195/75/14 ? http://www.onlinetires.com/products/vehicle/tires/cooper/195%252F75-14+cooper+discoverer+radial+lt+93q.html
  11. Anyone tried these yet? They have them in a 195/75/14. http://www.onlinetires.com/products/vehicle/tires/cooper/195%252F75-14+cooper+discoverer+radial+lt+93q.html
  12. Hey there. I was wondering if you could help a noob out. I lifted my 84' wagon with the two in blocks cut at 15* and i get some vibrations when at about 2700 RPM's and up in 2nd and 3rd. Is this just too steep for the axles or am i missing something obvious? Thanks. John.

  13. Oh yeah, no problem. But its pretty easy to drill out the wheel. You'll just need to make 2 new holes. If you plan on making this a daily driver, being 6-lug isn't the big idea, because it's tough to get the front studs perfect. If it isn't perfectly straight then you will get a really bad steering wheel shake, which is no fun.

But if you do decide to drill out wheels, just make sure they are steel.

  14. So Your saying drill the wheel out to be a four lug? Thanks for all the help by the way. I appreciate it!

  15. Yeah, that would be the easiest part of the whole process. Its 4 bolts and a castle nut with a cotter pin. Take it off, and use a 14mm bit to drill your new holes. Or just drill out your wheels, it's probably an easier option for you
