  1. yesterday was a dark day for me i had an accident with my soob loyale station wagon some guy on a motorcyle just crossed into the main road and crushed into my car as i was driving in the morning i had to rush him to hospital. using another vehicle. The front section of the vehicle is totally wrecked but my soob managed to reach the police station without to towing . iam really sad i have never had an accident before since i started driving it was a shock to me. the guy on the motor cycle was 70 plus! years . i finished the police and insurance paper work yesterday so iam planing to see the old man today in hospital. otherwise iam totally exhausted and fatigued. do have a nice day to all members of USMB you all inspire me. regards mwangix
  2. dear mr moglit happy new year first check if your battery terminals are clean check if terminals are loose, if the alternator belt is tight enough and grasping the alternator pulley properly, the check if the alternator is actually charging use multimeter to check if curent is flowing when car is on , check the alternator brushes ,finally check or have the electrolyte in the battery checked to find out if battery is faulty. hope this will solve you problem mwangix
  3. looking at the oil analysis the engine seems to be running perfectly despite the age and this truly proves that subaru engines survive a life time
  4. hi guys i have been away for some time iam back . i have repainted which i tell you is fun especially when you have to sand down the body filler to even out the dents i learnt alot about preparation .my subaru gl 10 had my rear springs stretched after missing rear coil spring replacement i hope that they will hold on for a short time while i source some heavy duty coil springs. the oil pump seal needs to be replaced together with the water pump seal since the thermostat is giving eratic readings. otherwise working on my loyale is very satisfying and i keep learning something new
  5. i decided to service my ea 82 carbed breakerless distributor after hearing some noise coming from it. i greased the bearing and centrifugal weigts and springs and reassembled it and finally adjusted the air gap, to get maximum spark it was a very taxing job since the car refused to start i later came to learn that it was the distributor for ea82T engine.had redo timing and move the distributor gear one gear tooth ahead on the cam shaft, the car finally started and now is working well and engine has more power after advancing the distributor halfway.
  6. today i started my subaru loyale gl 10 and noticed that my temp gauge was rising showing the engine was nearly overheating so i changed the radiator cap since the old one was worn out. after driving the car the temperature gauge rose slightly above the cold mark and didnt rise any further :)the engine was very cool.
  7. i have a subaru EA 82 1.8 carbed i have replaced worn out muffler and repaired the exhaust system and repainted it i also have replaced worn out waterpump gasket finally i have replaced rear shock absorbers
  8. hi every one iam always out of network well in our country as you would expect their 3 kinds of spares original subaru parts that are expensive and chinese spares that are cheap and keep replacing all the time and are fake generally people have problems getting certain parts and also we dont have skilled people who know how to fix subarus. so as a subaru car owner one has to take the initiative to read.otherwise the main dealers are very expensive so people tend to avoid them.
  9. sorry i havent been around been in the bush for a couple of days no internet their i have a subaru loyale gl 10 touring wagon when i got the vehicle it was on the stones and had not in 4 years the engine was 1.8T which was busted the auto gear box was out and not functional the air suspension was not functional the car was a complete wreck i had to source for a new engine 2nd hand gear box etc i managed to get a 1.8 non turbo ea82 which was mounted and i later got a five speed dual range gear box which i had fitted i was lucky the engine came complete with pressure plate clutch i also bought second hand struts since the air suspension was not functional its been along journey but through it all i have connected the ECU to this engine it idles very smoothly i love the car and the power
  10. in our country people are scared owning subarus i was told that it was impossible for me to maintain a suub but through your forum i have learnt to maintain my subaru loyale touring to the highest standards and the car is really great i would like to thank you for the wealth of knowledge that all of you have given me i hope that this forum will continue challenges are their to be overcome:D:D
