Is there really a factory 6" lift already installed on brats that would give them a slightly higher ride height? If there is where is it? on the shocks?

would it do that if its going through an amp? I have my speakers coming directly from my amp, its 800 watts though, and its tied directly to the battery. The radio how ever is running off what was in there. The kid we bought it from completely screwed everything up in and on it. My dad helped me wire my radio in but could it be from the crap wiring job from the other kid too?

The radio in my brat doesnt turn on when its cold outside. It turns on after a few minutes, 3-5mins, sometime longer or shorter and seems as though it would turn on in the time it would take for the choke to open, i dont know now because i have a cable choke. It is an after market clarion. The pioneer in it when i bought it did the same thing. Is this a normal thing or is there something wrong?

ok thank you. Right know it is stuck open because it wouldnt run closed. I live in colorado and its been cold in the mornings and wont start with out draining my battery.

ok so my problem was the choke was not opening correctly. i have my choke open all the way. I need to put a pull cable on my choke. i have no idea how to do it and i have looked at the service manual. is there anybody that can help?

It could be your choke. The choke in my brat wasn't opening properly and I had the same problems as you do. I placed a connection terminal for a small wire in the choke to hold it open. It runs great know. The terminal is only a temporary fix though. I just put it in last week. You need to switch to a pull choke. I still need to do this but my brat seems to have more power than when i first bought it.

My '85 Brat is sputtering between 1500 and 3000 rpm and I have no clue what is going on. its been doing this for almost a year, gradually getting worse. At first it only did it at 2000-2500 rpms for about 1-2 maybe 3 minutes, now its does it for close to 10-15 minutes. I have rebuilt the carb, replaced spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, and I just replaced the alternator. With each attempt it get worse. Can anyone help me?

Already has 5 speed. Just the speedo gear broken inside. Found new gear at dealership now just have to change it.

Picked up a 85 brat last week and love it so far. It is my 1st car:banana:.

Does anyone know how to repair/replace the speedometer drive gear in the transmission? We checked the cable and speedometer and they are ok.
