  1. I will need to use the knuckle up front, thats not an issue.

I can probably have a new axle stub machined for the rear so the hub will slide on the shaft and bolt down. Then its a matter of making/finding a backing plate so the caliper hardware will mount up.

Interesting.... I'd like to see you pull this off.

  2. I am not using the rear knuckles..so I dont need the subframe. Just the backingplate/hub stuff.

Saying stage keeps it all stright in my head, so knock it off. :-p

 How can you just use the hubs? Don't you need to mount them to the knuckes? '05 STi stuff is compatable?

  3. Its very possible. The VF7 housing gets machined for clearance...and there is a shim/spacer made so that the 13G wheel can be pressed onto the VF7 shaft. And then you are done.

However...that turbo will not be built. I am going to experiment with a complete TD04L-13G on it first.

Interesting. FYI, word on the 2.0 forums is that the stock WRX turbo is a 13T, not a 13G, if thats what you're planning on using.

  4. Eh, most old Loyales I've seen are rusty. My 91's fenders have practically rusted off.... there's a hole in the rear quarter panel big enough to stuff your fist through.

The car's still reasonably solid underneath, though, I never feel it flex excessively or anything. Hard for us to tell how bad yours is without seeing it, but I'd guess its solid enough for at least a few more years service.

  5. Me too. I'm trying to turbo an NA EA82.

I'm planning on using EA82T plumbing, USDM WRX IC, or maybe an old AWIC if I can find one.

Then, add water injection, boost controller, VF11 or VF7, maybe even a VF8.

I'm going to need an AFC to prevent busted pistons, I know, but the more safegaurds the better. Anyone have anything on this MS&EDIS? I'm too lazy to search right now. ;)

  6. soo... my question becomes.. if this is the new rally/sti standard...

does that mean that the production sti's will also start doing the "4 bolt" pattern

thus spurring the rim industry to start makeing after market rims

instead of us po'folk having to daydream of importing them ?

Doubt it. Pretty sure Subarus will be going to the 5x114.5 pattern on the '05 STi hubs.

  7. lets see, you could get a p&p on the intake and exhaust, valve job, delta cams , forged pistons, spyder intake manifold with larger throttle, better injectors with possibly a custom fuel rail, adjustable fpr, high flow fuel pump, ms'n' edis with msd ignition components, deadbolt monster td04 turbo, custom header, 2.5-3" exhaust with like a bell mouth downpipe, lightened and high rmp balanced drive shaft, 2-core radiator, fmic, lightened forged piston rods, possibly a light weight balanced crank, ic sprayer, and thats all i can think of for the moment, i might burn a few more brain cells trying to think up some more though. i think that can all be done with the ea82. thats my plan for building up a monster anyways. itsgoing to hurt my wallet.

good luck and keep us posted on what you go with and how much your putting out.

    peace

    tim c.

    You forgot something, Tim.

Water injection - great safegaurd against det. It's definitely going into my EA82T. :D
