  1. And I have read where the big 40 ton rigs can hit 22 mpg when cruising in 22nd ! I'll bet that is downhill with a tail wind ! Hard to believe, of course; in real life they average 4 to 6 mpg, or 200 ton miles per gallon and more ! Thus, the most important factor in mpg is the ultra strong Diesel working hard; The six spped, etc, will help a good deal. These are available in Europe, but not third world nations such as the good old USA !! Lets face it, the Subaru is a gas hog ! As was the old VW beetle under some circumstances.. And I put very little creedence in the EPA figures, I think the European din numbers may be more accurate.
  2. Why would any sane man want leather seats ? There are too cold in the winter and too hot in the summertime. Also too expensive - I have had them and my daughter as well. Fabric is much the better, particulary sheepskin. The engine block heater is recommended, I had one on my old '85 Diesel (also recommended).
  3. I cannot believe that any sane man takes any commercial seriously ! Its all so damn silly ! It is the citizens responsibility, working thru their governments to protect it, not Subarus, nor GMs.. This is a good forum, however, what people say and think is most interesting. I have tried out a '95 Leg AWD(132K miles), and I believe the clutch pacs were presenting "troubles". The power transition was not smooth and even at low speeds - something like a "grabby" clutch. This did not bother the PO, or so he stated.
  4. Many joints I have changed - why ? The CV joint boot opens , allowing an influx of water and dirt, also causing an exit of the special moly based grease. Very quickly the CV becomes noisy, with a click-clack sound during turns on that side. We operated our Honda with this noise for a year and 12K miles, finally got tired of it and replaced the whole axle. As the boot was replaced (too late) the axle was servicable, yet noisy.. Your Subaru noise is a different problem if the CV joints are full of the good special grease and the boots are unbroken. earthworm looking at a '95 AWD Leg
