I have a 95 imoreza l 1.8l front wheel drive around 149k when my cars is cold it makes a knocking noise until it warms up, and my gas mikeage has went from 23-25 to around 18 the car has made the knocking noise since i got it (had for about 3 months) i replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and oil 2 days after i got it so i dont think its any of that but i could be wrong any help would be nice

o yea i forgot about that, but they are interchangeable?

I have a 95 impreza L fwd, my question is will a 99 outback impreza rear end fit (axles, differential, brake shoes,drums, Rear crossmember, sensors,emergency brake, calbles.) basically can i jus unbolt one and put the other in?
(im aware i will need a awd tranny for the awd to work)

I have a stock ej18 in my 95 impreza and i have a k&n air filter just sitting in my room from my maxima, and i wanna put it in, i realize i need the adapter plate but what do i do with the hose thats hooked yo the air box? or can i not use the filter?

yea true im thinking about just finding a decent one around here with minor problems use parts off my car and just do it that way

I read that u could do that with the na ej22 but wasnt sure as far as the ej22t but thats for the info ill go ask around

Well my local junkyard has a legacy with a ej22 and im pretty sure its a turbo, didnt look that hard, has 80k on it i think, has a bad tranny and rusted body, and that would be the engine id be dropping in (93 legacy i believe) so im sure it can handle its own turbo and im not looking to make crazy boost just enough to have some fun, mayb eventually doing more, but if it is a turbo one will my ej18 ecu run it? and run it right or close to right? (as you can see i'm no expert). And i am the person who will sit there for hours on end trying to take a broken bolts out if needed lol

well the car is my beater till i fix my pathfinder, then i want to have some fun with it and a project, so a swap seems to me like fun, i can find a awd parts car quite easily, mayb even use mine as the parts car, but my ending goal is to have a 5speed awd turbo, and i am currently having none of that, yes i live in the rust belt but idc, i can do body work if needed, i mean if i can take a turbo assembly off of a legacy or somethin id do that but idk if that would work or not and what would i have to do to my motor to support it

well i had planned on turboing it, im sure tht would boost it up somse, or should i just stick with the 1.8 and turbo that?

I have a 95 Impreza L (fwd) with a ej18 with 146k and its slow (im sure you know) and when i fix my truck im want to do an engine swap project. im thinking of a ej22 swap and im curious what i need to do, will the transmission bolt up or do i need a awd swap? and will it works if i put a awd swap in? what years are compatable? new ecu? etc. any help would be gratly appreciated

Its runs perfectly fine when its warm and i know there ngk plugs and im sure its the cheap ones and i dont have ngk wires idk what brand they are
I do live somehwere cold and i dont believe ive changed ive always drove this way, so i dont think its that, as far as gas should i run higher octane? Ive read people gettin 30+ and im not getting 20 lol i do alot of on and off ramps on the highway mayb the constant push to get up to speed is whats doing it idk
