I'm not leery of doing the HG's, but I was kinda eying bh's longblock and had visions of making myself a turbo Forester. I'm sure it can be done...

Well, actually, I was just thinking about starting with the block, changing crank, rods, and pistons, bolting on newer heads, and keeping the Forester's wiring.

at the subaru dealer you can buy just the gears separatly if you whant make shure you change the shaft seal

Hello. I've searched on this topic quite a bit (so refrain from the flame, puddin' tame) and haven't been able to determine if I can buy a replacement rear wiper arm for The Goat (aka "the rusty hunk").

 

Problem: The blade isn't pressing hard enough against the glass to do an acceptable job of clearage. I could put a little more "spring" in the spring, but if I had my druthers, I'd rather just replace the thing.

 

Question: Can I buy a replacement? If so, where?

I too, have powerwashed many engines (like at the car wash) with no problems. I just try not to spray DIRECTLY onto electrical components. You should be fine, and yes Wal-Mart sells Simple Green concentrate - you can dilute it down to whatever you think strength is called for.

Well, apparently vacuum isn't the issue: I've 20" @ idle and still no defrost until...well until something happens, I'm not sure what makes it start working. All I know is that it acts much worse the colder the weather is. It's been a little warmer 'round here lately and so it has been working a little better.

 

So, yeah, something seems to be "sticking." Guess I'll trace the lines and see if there's something spliced into the vacuum line that isn't behaving the way it should.
