This 'dude' is still alive and kicking thanks ! Update - the wings (fenders) are all sorted and I have added the front valance / skirt to the GRP parts available for brats GLF's etc 82 onwards. What is needed now is a way of bulk shipping into the states- so far prices obtained are not low enough set against a pair off. If anyone on here knows or indeed would be interested in importing a quantity of these items then please let me know ASAP. I can ship pairs if anyone is prepared to pay the higher unit cost for shipment. I am happy to quote any enquiry. The GRP tailgate is scheduled to be started on around September this year so should be ready to buy around December time. The side lamps are indicators (turn lamps) - not running lamps. You could easily fill over the recess to keep as per US spec. The turn lamps are still available if needed via Subaru. It is really easy to do this hence why we went with the recess to we covered all market requirements. I wont be making the indicators though as it would involve injection moulding ! =$$£££ ! Hello fellow Scooby folks, I thought it was about time to let you folks know about developments happening in the UK.My name is Giles Walker and am one of the site owners of http://www.mvbrumbybrat.co.uk site. I have been a Subie fan for a long time having owned more Subies than I should have ! I currently own a Brat (or MV1800 as they are called here) a GLF Hatchback a GLF-5 Sedan (to be sold when we have finished modelling the fenders on ) and more modern stuff in a MY2012 Outback Diesel and a MY2002 Forester 2.0 Sport. I am new to this site - but some of you may well know of me from mvbrumbybrat or ausubaru - where I am a regular contributor. As you may or may not be aware front fenders for all MY Series vehicles are now no longer available as pattern copy's (from Tiawan) or of course Subaru Japan. NOS - New old Stock is getting very hard to come by as are useable salvage fenders. The very same can be said for the Brat Tailgates too. With this in mind and having spent the last 10 months or so working through all of the above, I have produced GRP copys of the front fenders for the MY Series - so this of course covers Brats / Hatches / Sedans / Wagons / Coupes. I have used a perfect pair of New Original Subaru fenders for the pattern. Please take a look at the following images to see for yourself. I have only quickly screwed the fenders onto the model car and I am very pleased with the fit and finish. Shortly I will embark on the tailgate - again from a new original Subaru panel this will be engineered for stength and propper function, and will feature steel inserts where needed. I am a time served design and development engineer and know what is required to deliver the correct finished product. These items will be made availiable to anyone who needs them - so please get in touch via this email samsonengineeringlimited@yahoo.co.uk Its possible that the fenders will be sold via a US based distributor, more on that as things develop. Classifieds, or Older Generation 80s. It is confusing and not related. I'm sure that the 80s owners would LOVE to hear from you. BTW your fenders look really nice! Last image for now - please note the consistant fit line fender / hood - more images in the previous 2 posts so backtrack to see them !!! (In the UK we would call that wing / bonnet ) Please note that I simply placed the fender onto the car - I spent no time whatsoever 'fitting' for a good fit I simply lightly screwed them down - so I am 100% confident in what we have produced will be as close as possible to original fit as it can be - The model car is a rare quad lamp GLF-5 Sedan which will be sold when I have finished with it. I will liberate the slam panel and fittings needed to convert my also very very rare GLF Hatch. Most MY series cars that came to the UK were single headlamp vehicles so a quad lamp set up is very much sought after ! Ok - here are images of the first out of the mould BRAT 82-87 RHS fender. I have collected the LHS fender (first off) and will be fitting this later today - pic's of that to follow. To clarify, I personally do have paypal (and a 100% feedback on ebay -1111giles) However dependant on interest levels for the fenders - and the tailgate which is the next up, I may import items into the US via a US based distributor. This vehicle in the UK was sold 82/3 to 94. for your interest. Pics..... Trust this helps you understand what I have here ! The side indicator in UK / Australia is fender mounted - for you folks in the States yours is in the bumper side - so you would simply need to fill over the mounting to revert your fenders to US spec. (oddly these were actually patterned from a pair of US spec fenders I bought - we had a real fiddly job to make the UK spec indicator / turn impression fit the otherwise flat mould !) Cheers Giles. Hi Guys Ok sorry if I have contributed to any confusion over supply of new fibreglass fenders. To clarify I have just commissioned here in the UK a pair of Moulds to produce what we call MK 2 Brat wings - I believe that you would have had this car from 82- 87 and was the last model Brat you had in the states. Of course the wings / fenders will fit the sedan / hatch / wagon variants too. I will post up images to further clarify later today along with contact details. These pattern GRP wings are now out of the mould and the fit and finish are superb. I also will produce (from a genuine new Subaru tailgate) one of these moulds too in the next month. Hi Guys I'm new to this site - but not new to either Subarus or other sites namley http://www.mvbrumbybrat.co.uk where I am a site administrator. I'm also active on Ausubaru site. Ok need to let you know about MY series MK2 so that covers all cars pickups etc. We are just about complete in making fibre glass wings for this range of cars, also a fibre glass tailgate is to be made soon too. The patterns are being made from brand new original Subaru (not copy) panels. The contractor is a high end manufacturer and is the company who makes most of the panels for KHAN Range Rover upgrades - so finish and quality are assured. Pick up Fuel filler pipe coming also (but in steel of course !!) If any of you out there are interested please get in touch - shipping can be arranged worldwide. It seems there are more panels for the MK1 available than the MK2 - here in Europe fenders (we call them wings) simply do not exist and we do know that tailgates are now nil stock in Japan.
