  1. Murder, you can email me at c l eb 9 at yahoo no spaces re: clutch. Which one did you want?

  2. i'm in hillsdale off of terwilliger. i got the swap done with no mods needed. redline now has a one piece adaptor plate. the fuel inlet is facing forward but its not in the way of anything. i took all emissions stuff out except the egr.

  3. how much are you asking for the fly/clutch assembly and what is the condition ?

  4. Hey MW, just got back into town. I have yet to do the swap. I'm still collecting parts.

I guess be sure to use SUBARU intake gaskets and be really methodical about the whole operation. I'm gonna get rid of a bunch of the emissions stuff at the same time and try to use the Soob aircleaner with mods.

What part of town you in?

    NE

  5. i live in portland and am doing a weber swap this weekend, any tips ?

the swap is on an 81 gl wagon with the ea81 motor.

  6. I dont know if you are still in the estacada area but i'm heading that way around 2 today to give my 81 gl wagon a little test run. i should hit hillockburn rd about 3. if you have some free time lets meet up.
  7. I was having the same fuel problem as you with my 81 wagon. your thread helped me fix it.

I was wondering if you ever ended up dropping the tank and if you have any suggestions?

  8. I finally found the problem and solution. Clogged filter in the tank. I was unaware that there was one in there. hit it with about 30psi to knock all the crap off and now i have good pressure. i still need to drop he tank and clean it but at least shes runnin strong again.
  9. other than dropping the tank, is there a way to find out if there is an in-tank fuel pump. i have heard that some models have in-tank or out-tank.
  10. i'll have some time to think on it. goin out of town for a few days. keep the input comin and i'll get it figured out when i get back.
  11. I sill need to do the quick pull over check. What i have checked off the list is fuel pump/filter, water/fuel, coil, air gap, egr, valve lash, plug gap. the problem has also persisted through two different carbs.
  12. I have a 81 wagon with a 1.8. rebuilt hitachi carb. It like to sparatically run like its out of gas or flooding, though if i push in the clutch and give her the full pedal she takes it with no problems at all. I have addressed the fuel pump, filters, cleaned all emissions hoses, tuned the carb, adjusted timing, all to no avail. the problem is random, though usually happens on an incline. does anybody out there have any input ?
  13. i just picked up this little beast last week. i have replaced the thermostat, new high flow water pump and a couple hoses. i also swapped out the stock muffler for one that i was using on a baja bug. i looks as though i will be replacing the rear main seal soon as well.
  14. hey man, i just picked up a 1981 ea81 4spd wagon with the og hitachi carb. in a post about gas mileage you said you got rid of all the emissions crap. i was wondering what the entailed and what mods you had to do to get it to run smooth ?
