  1. CEL finally came on. It was the IAC. Got some throttle body cleaner and cleaned it good. Problem solved. Thanks for the help.
  2. Are there any mods or body kits out there for a '90 Loyale. Just wanting to find something that can help the looks of the front bumper. Looks like they gave it Botox at the factory...
  3. I've seen a lot of threads about swapping the EA with a EJ, but nothing about the time and money it takes. How intensive is this project? What are the costs besides the new engine? What else has to be changed? Is it better to just get the whole power train and swap it? I know these questions have probably been answered else where, but I've spent hours looking an still haven't found it. Anyone have a link that might help?
  4. Also, are there any body kits out there to make that front bumper a little less ginormous looking? It's like they gave the thing some bumper Botox...
  5. Is the '90 Loyale supposed to be a dog? It's a manual, but it has a hard time getting to out of its own way. I also have a '94 Legacy Wagon and it puts the sportier lookng Loyale to shame. Was the engine in '90 just not comparable to the '94. There seems to be no mechanical symptoms to the lack of testicular fortitude, ie smoke, misfire, knocks, pings, none of it. It just doesn't go. If this is normal, what can I do to help persuade the car to go? After all, it has a spoiler it needs to go fast right?
  6. Is there any way to fit a manual seatbelt on the '94 Legacy. Cables on mine are trash and I want to get rid of the auto belt completely.
  7. I have a 94 Legacy that starts to stumble at idle when in drive. It only does this when it has warmed up. Once you start driving it goes away. Another symptom or completely seperate issue is that since I bought the Legacy, it seems to have a very long shift modulation. Not a stutter, but it feels like it starts to shift and then a couple seconds later it kicks in gear and you start accelerating better. This phenomenon happens every time at between 30 and 45 MPH at normal driving. It does not happen with your foot in it. Timing belt, coolant sensor, alt, and water pump were replaced in the last 5k miles. My first notion is to do plugs wires and fuel filter. Is there anything else I should look at while I'm doing maintenance. I've seen post about the IAC, could this cause my problem? Where is it? Does the Legacy have a MAF sensor? I know on my Chvy the MAF causes all sorts of problems, is Subaru the same? I'm just trying to learn Subaru better. Love the way they drive and handle, now I want to dive in and start playing with what I got. Anything will help.
