  11. It's a 1985 Subaru Gl wagon, Recent work, i got instructions from a post and re-timed the belts, i doubt its the problem its been running fine for weeks, And the car is at normal temperature, oh the engine is a 1.8l i believe, And with increase of gas is dulls, but then gets louder when i back off the gas some, But stops all-together when the pedal is untouched, downshifting, or just idling.
  12. You guys were great last time i had a problem, hopefully you can help me again, I'm getting a knocking, not sure where its from, But i can have it at an idol and rev it, and it sounds great, but when its in a gear, and i give it light gas, i get a pretty loud knocking.. Remember i don't know much so please explain in child terms lol
  13. Thank you everyone, she's up and running again, First time timing an engine and belts, I gave it about 4 goes, and she would not start or even crank over, then i noticed that i never turned the right cam 180 degrees before timing the left belt, i did that and she started right up, Thank you everyone, WOOT, time to go cruisin again
  14. Is there a way to "check" if the timing belts are off?
  15. Hi, i have a 1985 subaru gl wagon, I was doing a little mudding a few days ago, then yestarday i went over a speed bump, The engine got real deep, rattled alot, and died, I dont know much of anything about cars, its my first subaru, I looked under the hood, And found the left tensioner on the ground, I tried to put it back on, and it looks right, but the car wont start, and by chance it starts, it runs Really bad and dies unless the petal is to the floor, and then it only goes to 3k rpms, i have a vacuum gauge, and the pressure is reading zero. Any idea's? =\ Sorry for duplicate post, my last title might not get the point across
  16. I dont see any damadge to the oil pan, But upon closer inspection, the right head where the belt connects to, behind that is a shaft going into the engine, and on the shaft is a black seal just hanging there, im not sure if it was there before, but is it possible that came from inside the engine?
