  2. what are the most agressive tires i can get for my stock 1997 legacy obw? my choices are limited i know but is there something similar to mud terrains for my rim size? i found yokohama geolander at-s but thats as hardcore as i could find
  3. k thank you. i must say this is my second subaru and this one is postively a rocket and a total sleeper. as soon as the turbo kicks in its lights out for many cars that think they can beat the subie wagon:headbang:not that i condone racing of any kind
  4. i just bought a brand spanking new 2006 legacy gt wagon to complament my 97 outback and the brake calipers appear to have some yellowish green residue that is splatter on all of them. it kinda looks like paint almost but not sure. any idea what that is? thanks. the car only has 100 miles on it so just wondering. the brake performance is fine and no warning lights are on thx-bush
  5. where should i look for this heat shield? and can it be fixed with a simple socket set tighting a bolt? or do i need to buy some parts or something
  6. it seems like when it gets to a certain rpm i hear a loud viberating/rattling noise i am not sure what but maybe someone else here has had this issue?
  7. at around 3 grand when i downshift to 2nd in it vibrates and its only when the clutch is engaged..its a really loud rattling noise any ideas?
  8. considering the fact its brand new, go back and speak to a service tech! i wouldnt make an investment and just drive around if it doesnt feel right...get some answers from experenced professionals at the dealer
  9. i agree with steve that seems like sacrilege to do that to a svx, you can find older subies to lift and modify...
  10. anyone else have problems with their cup holder getting stuck or breaking? i am refering to the one in the dash.....the one behind the storage container thing is too flimsy to hold all but the smallest cups.... if anyone wants to sell their in dash cupholder unit pm me :cool:
  11. just had similar problem , cost a lot of money unless u can fix it yourself get the wallet out big time

  13. any places other than hollister and those type placeS? like any big open fields to just mess around in or muddy trails?
  14. after about 4 grand the engine gets realy loud, i hesitate to go faster but i guess the engine can handle it !
  15. just curious what the top speed is on a 97 legacy outback? going down the freeway at 80 the engine is so loud i cant imagine going 100 mph or more!
  16. getting 300 miles out of a tank sounds good to me, in regards to the o2 sensor--wouldnt i notice symptoms during driving? the car idles fine, drives fine, accelerates fine ect. but ya never know
  17. so what your saying is odds are the gauges are inaccurate and its not something like an o2 sensor or something? wow 100 miles on e? wow thats REALLY inaccurate
  18. where are you guys at about half a tank, how many miles on your trip ? i am at half a tank from a 100% full tank and i am at 108 miles !!! doesnt that sound like an outragousely low figure! oh well maybe the awd and the san francisco hills that does it ...what do you think about 108 miles at half a tank?
  19. just had to do same thing, mega bucks but lets pray it lasts till 200k.but relax, the car is great and i love mine to death as long is it runs! perfict to hit the country roads and mess around in the mud or rip around the city, havent even tried mine up in the snow.... i cant wait!
