Keyless entry
So I was wondering if I can install a keyless lock setup on my 97 Legacy L. I have searched under the dash and do not see any wiring connectors taped-up to the harness that match any description I can find for the module. Are all the harnesses prepped to install a keyless unit?

97 legacy hybrid / frankenmotor?
CrownLoyale replied to CrownLoyale's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOk, so I aquired an ej25d short block and am confused on which headgaskets I need to use with my 2.2 heads. They are single port heads (phase 2?). Which thickness gasket do I use? Or do I get factory ones and drill?

97 legacy hybrid / frankenmotor?
So heres the deal. I aquired a 1997 Legacy with a 2.2 that has bad rings. So I figure I will do the 2.5/2.2 setup. I've searched around and I guess I'm not finding the answers I want, what I would like to know is what 2.5 bottom end should I use? Do I need a DOHC block, or can i use a SOHC block? Does it matter one way or the other? I also remember seeing something about different sized oil pumps, as far as volume. Also which headgasket does this require? Just an OEM 2.5 one? This legacy is a 5-speed, which clutch/flywheel setup can I use? Thanks for any info.

A/C Issue on 2002 Impreza
CrownLoyale replied to stackman1's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDealer was probably selling a compressor because they diagnosed it wrong. Looking at A/C gauges you don't want to see vacuum on the low side when its running. In fact there should be a low pressure cut out switch located on your receiver/dryer (should be by the pass. side strut tower below the horn) that cuts power to the compressor before it can pull vac on the low side. The reason it was able to pull vac when running was due to the faulty expansion valve.

Religion discussion of the week. Sealants...
CrownLoyale replied to Ricearu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCan't comment on the case halves, sounds like 518 is the way to go. I use Toyota black FIPG on most everything. It can be messy and if you get it on your fingers it doesn't like to come off easy. Never had any problems with the 'Yota stuff, cant say the same with any of the grey stuff.

1987 GL10 Turbo, 7 codes and intermittent CEL
The purge solenoid should have about 40 ohms, and shouldn't be able to blow through the ports when not activated. I had 5 codes stored in my 90 Loyale with one of them being a purge solenoid code. Mine was open and it let vacuum through it. I had a similar one lying around and wired it up to the harness. Cleared the computer and haven't had the light return, been about a month. Although I didn't have driveability issues, the light just bugged me.

CEL Check Connector?
Ah haha! Ok, I was thinking the dash light would be the one flashing.

CEL Check Connector?
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what color the wires are on the "check connector" for the check engine lamp unter the dash. Theres a bunch of white & black connectors under there but they all have female treminals. Or maybe a picture of said commector and there it should be located? thanks oh yeah, its a 1990 Loyale EA82 wagon

99 Outback overheating
CrownLoyale replied to skiu4ikjames's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThey won't fail an internal combustion leak test either. Best way to see is bleed the cooling system, run up to temp and make sure the t-stat opens and fan operates, next drive it. If it over heats and pushes out the overflow, its failed HG.

I'm new, first post
Hello everyone, new to the site. I recently bought a 1990 Loyale Wagon, all stock, about 174k on the clock. Not sure what my plans are for it yet, just driving it right now. Heres a pic of it, not bad for $280.
