  1. alright so I checked out the rotor to see if it was spinning, it was! Ok so I looked at the rotor and it would actually free spin on the shaft, and I found a screw laying inside the cap, so I put the screw back in, although its only half in because the damn thing is stripped. I start the car it starts real good yeah real happy. so my friend suggest we get a new cap and rotor. I say ok. long story short, we change them, he took out the distributor aparently so he could get to the screw on the rotor. anyway now it won't start, I don't know if he put the wire on wrong or what. I did however notice that the spindle the rotor lays on wasn't enterly strait... I don't know what could have gone wrong in this process? Something we missed? do these screws get stipped out a lot? How do I fix that./ You guys rock thanks ahead of time.
  2. unfortuanatly my arms are not small, but thanks again for the info, I'm crusing out to try it now... real quick, while i'm thier I would like to check the fuel pump fuse, any idea where that is? (under hood, or in main fuse cluster?) thanks again
  3. Nice, thanks man really appreciate the info, that will save me a ton of time.. do you recal what size bolts for the covers? and are they a pain to take off?
  4. Sudden loss, by girlfriend didn't even know it lost power until I said something, and I couldn't tell you for sure what kind, a shop in oregon put them in. You think it might be timing belt?
  5. yeah it still turns over, I had someone look at the spark while I turned it over, I think he looked from the distrubutor?
  6. Kind of hard to tell if they broke without looking, is that correct? I had both timing belts replaced little over a year ago. I'll have to look at that. I'm trying to get as much info to bring with me so hopefully I don't have to be out in the cold to long.... oh and some dude took off a fuel line and thier really wasn't that much pressure, poured out a bit instead of squirted out. I know the fuel lines should stay pressurized.. any thoughts?
  7. You know, I noticed it was dead when the engine stalled, all the lights went on and at that point I was trying to get off the highway and didn't notice what the oil pres and the tack was doing. i did check what I think was the fuel pump fuse? I'll check in my un trusty chiltons guide. thanks
  8. I have a 91 loyale 1.8 4wd, wagon has been running really well lately. About an hour ago it just died on the highway, no warning, no warning lights, sounds, smell. We checked for spark had some, we also checked for fuel but not sure if we did that the correct way. It has 175000 miles on the motor. Fuel tank is pretty full. I don't know, any kind of info would be good. Finals week and this is the last thing I need right now.. . THanks guys Oh how do you check if a fuel pump is working? thanks again
  9. Thanks for the info dude! My fuel economy is real good, Espially after changing the plugs, its really always been pretty good, just looking for input... thanks again... oh and I also go to UAA.. I have the loyale with yakima rack and white rocket box with mountainbikealaska.com on it. later
  10. hey thanks again guys for the input... I realize the loyale is gutless just a bit frustrating when other loyales pass you up hill... if ya know what i mean? But yeah I did get the point about the search thing on the first post... but really no hard feeling's and all the info is really appreciated!
  11. Does that mean that when i push the pedal down at 1/2'' the clutch should engage? I'm asking because that doesn't seem like much.
  12. The clutch is fine, not slipping feels real solid... I don't think I'm adjusting it right.. I'll have to look at it some more.
  13. So bush whacker, you can bitch about someone asking a question that might have been asked before. So what took more time? You thinking of a way to bitch or would it have been more effecient to just not even bother posting. And why would you even waste your time clicking the little link that said "I need more power". SO many questions and so little answers.
  14. Hey I had a post on here the other day about this.. my clutch doesn't engage until its all the way up. within a 1\4 inch... I tried tightening cable as suggested that just made clutch pedal higher.. I know your pedal is supose to be the same height as the brake.. mines, about 2 inches above. would that effect my clutch adjustment???? suggestions would be appreciated
  15. yeah, not the sugestion I was looking for, but thanks for the input really appreciated. yup real good
  16. My 91' loyale is really gutless it has almost 180k on it, any suggestions that might give me a bit more horse power? Thanks for the help

  18. Not much for the messenger thing, not that this is much different... but I worked on the nushigak river and togiak... the lodge was located in wood tikchik state park,(tikchik narrows lodge) pretty rad summer, lots of fish! conditions were pretty sketch really low water hense no rain...
  19. I thought you needed a fancy tool to replace these things? I that knot the case?
  20. grew up in palmer, livin in anchorage now.. hows the weather treatin you? Fires dead yet? I was in the bristol bay area this summer guiding and ran into the smoke more than a handful of times.. pretty knarly
  21. yet another question! My rear defrost stopped working all of a sudden.. Fuses are good anything else it could be? Winter is coming quick in ak thanks guys
  22. I have a 91' loyale and I think the suspension is shot.. How do I know when the suspension is out? And if it is out does anyone know what labor would cost? thanks guys
  23. 91' loyale, my front suspension squeaks while goving over bumps etc. I had my girl friend pust up and down on the front while Ilistened for noise, it appears to be a sway bar bushing. Has anyone replaced this before? What does it take for a job like this? thanks
  24. thanks guys... Yeah and no slipping at all, the clutch itself feels pretty solid. I'll give that a try. thanks again
