  3. Well I think its time for a new disty. My crank angle codes issue is gunna burn out my check engine light if I don't replace the darned thing. It started coming on intermitidly 6k miles ago with not much reason or rhyme, but the CE is not going to shut up over this even after having it read again and reset. She's still runnin' great at 125k but I've stupped to putting black electric tape over the CE light so only a sliver of red shows through only to the driver side. The Suby Dealer wants $600 . Can I get some feedback on where I should look to acquire another used/new disty for my rig. Pro's / con's and maybe some links and what to expect. Thanks a bunch this SITE rocks:headbang: . IT has been an invaluable tool . Thanks a lot!!! It's a '92 Loyal 4x4 5sp a/c and the disty that's in it now has 2 rows of #'s. 22100AA440 and under that is D4P86-03B1805 I dont know if that helps? 4. I'm getting 2 codes, both are regarding the distributor I've been told. After replacing my coolant sensor my CEL went out. Should I be considering a new distributor and if so whats the best way to go with aquiring a new one and what should I expect to pay? Is it something I can install myself? I'm no expert and may have access to a timinglight. Thanks for your help! BOB
  5. I FINALLY got my o2 senser replaced! I had to drop the exaust pipes from the engine. Thanks for all your help!
  6. I am looking for a Code reader for my 92 subaru Loyale ea82. Anybody know where I can buy one? Also, what brand or model number do you recomend? I hear they are bright green, but I can't find one locally except at the dreaded dealership! Thanks for you help And by the way, I FINALLY got my o2 senser replaced! I had to drop the exaust pipes from the engine.
  7. Thanks rallyruss! It seems 2 me that maybe the converter has become shoved a little to close 2 the tranny thats why I cant get the special socket on.I don't need much ! I think after I test like you recommend,& I still want 2 replace I'll try 2 gently wedge a piece of wood in between to get the socket the 1/4" of clearance I'm currently lacking.
  8. Chiltons #64302 / section 4-9 Im sorry I was under the impression based on single wire o2 this was what the book says to due. Is this not the way you test ?
  9. W/ the use of a multitester W/o2 sensor unplugged which I can't seem 2 due. one end 2 batt.ground the red on end of o2 pigtail engine warm/hot Dc scale should fluctuate voltage rapidly between 0.40-0.60v
  10. It has some on the new part plus ill carefully add more anti-sieze non turbo this tool basically should be able to keep me from not have to undo the shroud on the converter which id rather not do they look darned near age welded even w/ penatrant spray!
  11. Thanks 4 your help! Am I lame? I can't even undo the plug connecter it won't budge,I see a little tab of somekind it won't move. I have a new bosch#12053 ready to go would like to know if the orange wire reads the .40-.60v rapidly @600 F. IF it doesn't test right once I & IF I get it unplugged,I'll replace but how? I bought the proper tool Napa#775-9047 7/8'' cutout deep socket but it won't clear the tranny by about <3degrees & <a 1/4" or so. It looks like a teensy amount of persuasion is all it would take however I'm a little concerned about damaging the new 50$ one on the way back in. Any suggestions? 92 Loyale ea82 4x4 4 dr wagon 5spd. manual
  12. New 175/80 toyo premiums & this should give me the cablechain clearance im after.
