Threebond 1215 equivalent?
I posted this question over on ausubaru.com, but it's a bit of a slow Sunday afternoon here. Putting the spare EJ20T back together after head gasket failure. The manual says to use Threebond 1215 or equivalent on the forward camshaft caps and the rocker cover. I've got Permatex Ultragrey RTV silicone. It's oxygen sensor safe and looks like it should be OK to use. Does anyone know if this stuff is NOT suitable ?

adjust clutch on 93 Impreza L
craigusoz replied to joel_harris's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf the clutch engages right at the bottom of the pedal travel, then there is no point in adjusting it further, if slipping is the problem - it will be fully engaged when your foot is off the pedal.

Engine shake after Engine Removal/Head Gasket replacement
craigusoz replied to bearbalu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDid you put the clutch pressure plate back in the same orientation on the flywheel as it was in when you took it off?

Inspection hole for felx plate?
craigusoz replied to sid_vicious's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThey can be. Make sure you use a hexagonal socket, like an air socket, not a 12 point one, to avoid rounding off the heads.

Lifting EJ20T - advice
craigusoz replied to craigusoz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks guys. It turned out I couldn't seperate the transmission from the engine while it was still in the frontcut anyway (some corrosion on the dowels), so I just pulled the whole assembly, using the pitching stopper bracket for the rear lift point.

Lifting EJ20T - advice
Hi all - I'm about to lift the engine out of a Legacy front cut that I bought - the engine is going into my Vortex. Just a question for those that have done it before - is it OK to just use the lift point on the air conditioner bracket to lift the engine? That gives an off-centre lift for one thing. I can't see another lift point anywhere towards the rear of the engine.
