  1. Thanks guys. I'll have a look at the anaerobic one when this tube runs out.
  2. I posted this question over on ausubaru.com, but it's a bit of a slow Sunday afternoon here. Putting the spare EJ20T back together after head gasket failure. The manual says to use Threebond 1215 or equivalent on the forward camshaft caps and the rocker cover. I've got Permatex Ultragrey RTV silicone. It's oxygen sensor safe and looks like it should be OK to use. Does anyone know if this stuff is NOT suitable ?
  3. If the clutch engages right at the bottom of the pedal travel, then there is no point in adjusting it further, if slipping is the problem - it will be fully engaged when your foot is off the pedal.
  4. Did you put the clutch pressure plate back in the same orientation on the flywheel as it was in when you took it off?
  5. They can be. Make sure you use a hexagonal socket, like an air socket, not a 12 point one, to avoid rounding off the heads.
  6. Thanks guys. It turned out I couldn't seperate the transmission from the engine while it was still in the frontcut anyway (some corrosion on the dowels), so I just pulled the whole assembly, using the pitching stopper bracket for the rear lift point.
  7. Hi all - I'm about to lift the engine out of a Legacy front cut that I bought - the engine is going into my Vortex. Just a question for those that have done it before - is it OK to just use the lift point on the air conditioner bracket to lift the engine? That gives an off-centre lift for one thing. I can't see another lift point anywhere towards the rear of the engine.
