  1. Hey its common for me I have to do it but I havn't had a chance to do it I juse used a longer bolt and a washer and it works but yeah it does still leak a little. Really quick. what size helicoil did you use and what size bit? and where did you get the helicoil?
  2. skip quick question would this problem be the same thing:? at first startup it will bog down to really low rpms but when its warmed up it runs right where it should. What I don't get is shouldn't it rev higher at colder temps then lower?
  3. I have a stumbling problem on my 88 spfi subaru. I have never replaced the fuel pump and it has 150 thousand miles on it however the fuel filter was replaced in april. now when I start it it wont even go past 1000 rpm sometimes unless I go really slow on the gas and not hard on it. before if I just floored it, it would stumble but now it stumbles all the time. what could this be? bad TPS? fuel pump? it did rain a bunch yesterday and I'm wondering if that hurt it or something.
  4. Ok so you are burning oil then. There are three ways I can think of that subaru can burn oil. 1 is bad valve guide seals in your case severely bad seals. or 2. Bad oil rings. you said you looked at them. Did you replace them? and possibly 3. PCV system is drawing oil into the intake. I'm thinking about the ea82s did that on long turns. I would also check to see if your air filter is dry or is covered in oil. Other than that it shouldn't be anything else.
  5. so... replace the o2 sensor is the vibe I'm getting. It is at 152 and I havn't replaced it since I got it at 145 miles. And I don't know if its ever been replaced.
  6. I think I am running a bit lean and I was curious if there is a way to determine how good I'm running. I know the ideal ratio is 14.7 so how do I find that out with a SPFI non turbo EA82. And knowing that... if it is lean or rich how do I adjust it? is it involved with replacing sensors or turning a screw somewhere?

  10. I can't get my hood to release now.. When I pull on the hood release it just pulls back doing nothing. So how do I get the hood open without breaking the grill and what not
  11. Hiya guys. This board is a lot better than the old one. Here is my problem. My car is leaking gear oil a lot worse than before. I thought it was the drainplug/gasket so I went to checker and got a new drain plug and it came with a rubber gasket. But after i replaced it I noticed the old one had a metal gasket and I'm curious if it has to be metal. Cause now my leak seems to of gotton worse. Suggestions?
