well i have a bigger problem now...i have no dash lights at all, anytime. oh well, what do i do now?where can i get a wiring diagram?

the dash lights work when the ignition key is on accessory (sp)?, not the run position. the dash lights work still when the car is running, with the parking and headlights off. im not sure what model car it is, like i said earlier..."this is my first subaru, and i know absolutely nothing about them" when the car is in running position, and i turn the switch one time to the parking lights, the dash goes off then also.

i didnt take it as a smart elick remark at all. the dash works when the car isnt in the run position.when it is in the run position, it doesnt work.when i switch that switch, it turns the parkin lights off and on, thats it. understand?sorry guys, this is my first subaru, and i know absolutely nothing about them.

okay, i guess everyone got confused....bottom line is... when the head lights are off, along with the parking lights, the dash lights are on, but when i turn the switch to turn the headlights on, the dash lights go off.the parking lights work, when the engine is off, the dash lights work even when i click to turn the headlights on, but they dont come on, but the dash does work then. is that any better?im almost to the point of just posting pics...ha.

the dash lights are on when the headlights are off, but when i click the headlights on, the whole dash light deal goes off. and another thing, when i have the car not running, the dash will stay on when i turn the switch for the lights to turn on, but they dont, when i start the car, the lights are on but no dash lights.what do i do?

got my car back from the shop today...they told me my whole freakin switch thing needs to be replaced, itll be 367.00.anyone have one cheaper?i really need to get this fixed...my windsheid wipers and all that junk works, jsut my dash lights are backwards...they said they checked the wires and everything, and i went by the junk yard...they dont have any sub's....

how much is one of those switches?i need to get one.

why does my 94 loyale get like 10-15 mpg?its terrible!!

Its in good shape, 4wd works really well,interior in great shape with no tears or anything, no dash cracks. 5 speed, runs good with no knocks.transmision is still tight in it. im wantin 1300 obo for it or trade for somethin else, tell me what you have.it has 206000 miles on original motor,has all new axles.the only thing thats wrong with the car is that when you turn the headlights on the dash lights go off, and when you have the headlights off, the dash lights work.the hood has one dent in it, cant really see it unless you look close. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23971&highlight=instrument+panel+loyale theres the thread i posted bout the dash deal.i dont have time to deal with it, seems like an easy fix though. im 90 miles east of nashville tn. post on here or email me. thanks seth phifer_7@hotmail.com

i dont know much about the car at all. i guess it isnt working fine then lol. where can i get a switch like you are talking about?how do i install it?btw, its a 94 loyale. thanks alot

its not a digital dash. when the headlights are off the dash lights work fine, but when i turn them on, every light in the dash shuts off. the display intenstiy dont even work, thats wierd too....thanks for your help. seth

im new to this board, but when i turn my lights on, my instrument panel lights go off, and i cant see nothing. there is also a roaring from the front of the car,i was thinking it was just the bearings, any help with either topic is greatly appreciated. thanks
