  1. Car has 75K on it - purchased from dealer at a good price. Very clean, in and out with minor paint fixes done before he sold it. Carfax is clean, shows more or less regular maintenance. Only issue I have is this slight "breathy", almost diesel sound when I accelerate. Drive speed does not matter. When I step on the accelerator it becomes apparent. As soon as I let off or coast, sound just about disappears. Almost sounds like an exhaust leak, but not quite. Turning the radio on low almost masks it completely. Do not have it with my old 96 suby with 177k on it. Am I being overly cautious or what? Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance. Wolfgang
  2. OK, it's photo-shopped, but thought some of you might appreciate it. But here's my last (not photoshopped) suby: Wolfgang
  3. Hello all! Just joined after lurking here for a bit. Have already gleaned quite a bit of useful info (disabling the clutch/ignition interlock and disabling DRL's) as well as changing burnt out dash bulbs. I've owned subies for about 12 years now, always purchasing used legacy's. In 2005 a legacy saved my life when I wrapped it around a tree after being forced to come to work the day after a trip back from Japan. Just fell asleep 5 minutes from home- unfortunately still behind the wheel. So, needless to say, my next purchase was once again a suby. My 1996 legacy is still running strong at almost 177K, but I have decided to sell it, having found a 2003 model with only 75,000 miles. Old suby: New suby (with a little photoshop help): Blusey is a fine vehicle with just one or two small issues, but I'm sure she will be fine. Not sure what her new color scheme will be, but I'm working on that. (hee hee) Won't be able to paint her till late spring anyway, so I have time. Thanks for all your insightful articles, and I'm sure you will be hearing from me. Wolfgang
