    So it turns out that it wasn't the trailer hitch that wasn't right, it was my mechanic! I went to a different mechanic and he popped it right on. Go figure. Thanks again for everyone who responded. I appreciate it.

    Thanks for your quick reply. So to clarify I have a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Outback Sport. Not sure if that information would alter your reply. Does U-Haul install/sell trailer hitches?

    I'm looking for a trailer hitch for my 2006 Impreza Outback (I want to use a bike carrier). I just got a Class II trailer hitch with a 1 1/4" receiver from a tractor supply store and when I took this to my mechanic to get it installed, they told me this was for an Impreza and not an Impreza Outback. So do they make trailer hitches for 2006 Impreza Outbacks? Thanks for anyone's help.
