  1. I am doing an engine reseal on my 1990 loyale. My timing belt has about 30,000 miles on it. It looks good--clean, fresh, flexible, no cracks, etc. i was planning to just throw the engine back in without changing it but then was reading in my manual that its highly recommended to change it any time tension has been released from it. Does anyone have an opinion as to weather this is really necessary? It's recommended to be changed every 60,000 miles and i don't plan to be driving the car much past that.
