  1. Cylinder damage, looks like EJ swap time.

    Finally got the engine out and apart today. Had coolant in the oil. Frost plugs pushed out of both heads and water damage in one cylinder.

    Yes, cut down hatch. 1.6, 4 speed. Went through the carb, fixed some wiring and topped up the fluids and fired it up, sounded good, but it started mixing coolant in the oil. Time to yank the engine and pull the heads.

    Found this on Craigslist last month. Previous owner bought it out of southern Virginia a few ago. Pretty solid, plans are get it up and running for now.

    Hi Everybody, Mike here. Subaru fan for the past 20 years, spent the last 11 at my local Dealership working on them. Currently have two in the stable a 2001 Outback wagon for the wife, and a one owner 1994 Loyale 4wd wagon. Found this site looking for info on lifts for the Loyale, and I must say there is a wealth of knowledge here.
