  1. did the bushings as well and the two upper one were not to bad but the other four were egg shaped or not there or in pieces. Now it shifts smooth and feels great in every gear. Took the day to do but was worth the time and only cost $65 for parts from the dealer, 6 bushings ,the two role pins, and the spring that was missing. Its a new shifter MARVELESS had to sell the little car because wife lost her job ....... will have to find another so I can stay here and ask questions or look for parts !!
  2. Heartless, we have dropped into the mid 70's at night in Phoenix , but used to live in Western Washington so know what ( cold , wet , sloppy miserable looks like and feels like out under a car or tractor lol ) thanks again !!
  3. heartless , if you still have the seat belts for sale? my year doesn't have a life time warranty on the belts milesfox says that the front automatic belts are a unit , if that's true then I will need both driver and passenger belt mechanism from the center console . Also will need both sides of the lap belt for the center passenger in the back seat . please let me know
  4. thanks for the info will get under this week .... on another note 95 and newer had a lifetime seatbelt warranty . 94 and before did not but thank you for the info to look into about just the luck of the draw.
  5. on the above info , I forgot to say its a 94 legacy wagon with the 5 speed and 2.2 engine
  6. question on the R&R of the shifter Roughly how long did it take for the job and were might I encounter a ( should have done it that way moment ) also was looking at the info about the parts you guys have listed , since I would like to save and do it myself does anyone have a list of the strongest parts to put in and the best place to get ALL of them needed at once so no surprises after the car is not able to drive to get the forgotten part lol thanks to all your great advice
  7. will look at the valve covers in a couple days - tonight just strained the right ankle- trouble walking lol. cleaned the engine and the few drips are showing from the timing cover. don't see any others from the top. places here want around $500 parts and labor to redo the shifter .. Arg!!!! think the parts to replace all parts needed would be around $100 prob. try to talk my brother into helping when it cools down here in AZ. lol
  8. its on the list of things to do. rebuild shifter new timing belt kit , with water pump and all other seals. this should stop irritating oil leak . drain and refill rear pumpkin and trans front breaks rewind the cargo cover. replace two seatbelts probably other stuff to do just don't know yet lol
  9. update on the life time warranty of my seatbelts. talked with a dealer here in Phoenix, on the Subaru net they didn't show life time warranty on my year and model, however he will call a more knowledgeable person should hear back in a week.
  10. heartless , milesfox told me about the seatbelt replacement so going to see about them tomorrow by calling the dealer ... will report on this later
  11. thanks for the info about the life time replacement will look into that and get back to you about yours after I know more if that's ok ?
  12. new guy here and my first Subaru ----- 94 legacy wagon 5 speed , 94 K original . Have same problem with shifter . it moves as if its in neutral even though it can be in any gear lol. would like to know about the years that would work for mine as a possible kit replace instead of all the bushings and info on better replacement parts as well as sites to get them . Thank you
  13. have a 94 legacy with the 2.2 ... 94 K original . I am second owner got it with oil leak same place and was told same fix ..... since I don't want to get into it that far a trusted shop said it would be 950 to 1000 to replace everything inside cover and water pump along with seals etc. It leaks just a little and I just watch the fresh oil change for now.
