  1. I searched ebay and didn't find those, probably because I was looking specifically for 1986 - thanks for the link. I know after 1982 the gen 2s are basically the same, but did anything significant change between the 1984 and 1986 model years? This isn't an urgent need, so I can hold out a little while longer in hopes an 86 book will get listed, but if the only change was the year on the cover I will probably just pick up one of these.
  2. Nice rig Jonas. Is that a 2" lift on there? That's one of the first things I'm considering doing to mine and 2" seems to be the most popular choice since it doesn't require much, if any additional modification. I'm mainly looking to get some more aggressive tire options for off road travel and a little bit more ground clearance. I do travel to and through Oakridge pretty often in the summer, so I'll keep an eye out for ya!
  3. After a rather extensive search on this forum and the interwebs, I managed to only find two leads for an 86 Brat Factory Service Manual. I already have the Haynes, but I want something more specific to my model year. I found this link here and it appears to be what I'm after, but I don't necessarily want to spend $130 combined for all of the volumes: http://www.books4cars.com/listings.php?findmake=Subaru&model=%&year=1986&type=Shop I'd prefer to find a CD with the same information and don't mind paying a few bucks for it. This was the only place I found it: https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/278037897-subaru-brat-complete-workshop-service-repair-manual Has anyone ever purchased from this site? It seem legit.
  4. First time posting today...bought a new to me 86 Brat GL with 180k on the clock about a month ago after several months scouring the interwebs for a rust-free rig that wasn't totally run down. Glad to be back in the Subaru family. Sold my first gen WRX about 10 years ago since at the time the car payment did not meet my income, still regretting that move but it allowed me the financial freedom to live better..so it goes. Anyway, it seems this forum is alive and well - I've stumbled across many that died years ago - and I hope I can learn more about these unique cars and eventually contribute to the good of the community. Let the good times roll...
  5. I was just out at B&R on Prairie Rd and G&R (Pick-a-Part) on Hwy 99. G&R had a couple of GLs and B&R had one, saw a couple nice CV axles, but not much else. If you post what you need I can tell you if I noticed it.
  6. Brand new owner of a 1986 in very good condition. No rust or major body scratches/dents, interior in good shape, 180k, canopy, no real mods done (yet), a couple of minor oil leaks (oil pump and left head cover), no major work needed. $3500. PM me if you want more info.
