  1. Thought you guys would enjoy this article: http://jalopnik.com/5877037/how-ronald-reagan-became-a-secret-subaru-test-driver
  2. Hello All, just thought I'd share the new car. 2005 Legacy GT. Sold off my 98 LGT and 82 DL Wagon. I did pick up a winter beater..95 Legacy LS wagon lifted 2" for the bad days.
  3. Thanks guys.. Dropped it off at my neighbor mechanic's. Ill see what he has to say about..wish I had the time to do it myself.
  4. Hey guys, just picked up a 95 Legacy for a winter beater. Its got a 2.2 with around 115k on it. I noticed yesterday while at idle it is making a weird almost rattling sound. The sound quickly goes away when the car gets up over 1500RPM's. Seems like it just started and I have been driving it for around a week. Also seems to go away when the wheel is turned completely to the left or right. What could this be? There is also a weird whirring sound coming from the rear when driving down the road...What coulod these be? Any help would be appreciated!!
  5. I think its time for me to upgrade my 98 Legacy GT. So I have decided to look into the Outback VDC either wagon or sedan..whatever I can find at auction. How do you like this vehicle??? Is the VDC system all its cracked up to be?
  6. John, a carfax reprt will give you a better idea on were the car has been and how many owners it has had. Hopefully it was a one owner! Make sure the mechanic drives the car in a figure 8 sequence in a parking lot to check for torque bind and or lurching. Also, make sure the car has 4 matching tires.
  7. try a search and see if that gives you any pointers
  8. Gary, the 99 is still doing this, but with a fluid change and some lucas trans treatment, it seems to be going into drive a little quicker, but can still notice its there.
  9. I wasnt on the test Drive when it happened. Its an auction that sells a large amount of subies on ebay about 10 mins away from my place. I am kind of leery so Im going to go down and check it out for myself.
  10. Looking at a 96 Outback 2.2 with 5 speed. The place says that the main computer burned out on a test drive and now will not start and will need to be towed. My question is, would a computer from a 96 2.2 Auto trans fit right in? How difficult and time consuming is this whole process??
  11. Hi All! Just got a 99 Outback 2.5 with 95k on it. When shifting into Drive it seems that it takes longer than usual for the tranny to engage into gear. Did a fluid flush and still hasn't done the trick. Also, from time to time the speedomter does not work.Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  12. I agree that it may just be road film. Go to an auto parts store and pick up a claybar and some quick detailer and see if the contaminant will come off with a few swipes of the claybar. You can also try a heavy duty tar and adhesive remover to rub the film off.
