  1. Sorry i had to go to the shortly after posting. It is making the jerking and thunking at slow speeds when turning. Also i recently had a nail in my front drivers tire, and when i put my donut on to drive to get it patched, the problem was worse, until i hit 60mph the the FWD light came on and it drove fine the rest of the way to the tire shop. I don't know if these are related, but i do sometime hear a small thunk from the front passanger side when going over some bumps.
  2. I am asking because my car has been making noise's and i'm trying to find out what it is. I am thinking it is either that or wheel bearings that need fixed. IF it helps my car is a 2005 Impreza 2.5RS with an automatic transmission.
  3. I will contact the dealership after thanksgiving and talk to them about fixing the bearings, but if refuse i will contact the finance company and talk to them about it. I'm not sure what to do if they won't help either.
  4. I will do my best to pay it off as soon as i can,i plan on taking very good care of this car,i would almost say i love this car more than my first car lol. I am guessing they are allowed to change the price by that much with out telling me?
  5. Well i looked over the paper work. i am paying $220 a month for 30 months Umm when i was looking at the car on thier site it was priced as "$̶4̶9̶9̶5̶ $3995" with the $3995 in red saying special,i was thinking mabye it was cash only price, well according to the paper work, they listed the sales price as $5995. That is $700 over blue book for that car..... Now there site says "Information deemed reliable, but not guaranteed. Interested parties should confirm all data before relying on it to make a purchase decision. All prices and specifications are subject to change without notice. " Does that phrase Allow them to change the price that much? Because in all with down payment, and trade in,plus payments, fee's and interest the car will end up costing over $8000 I know i made a very stupid mistake, and should have looked at the paper work, but i was running late for work. On the bright side i LOVE the car despite the very few problems it has.
  6. I just read through the paper work i signed when i bought the car,and one said on it in big letters "AS IS NO WARRANTY",i know i should have been more careful when buying the car,but this is my second time buying a car for myself and i am 26,so i am young and dumb lol. I will try to talk to them, but i don't know if they will be willing to do anything.
  7. The tires still have a lot of tread and are not showing weird wear yet,do you think with that it would be safe JUST for the 3 weeks until i can afford to replace them? Because i just checked all the junkyards sites within 30 miles of me,and none have any impreza's at all lol... EDIT: no forester's or legacy's either...
  8. Sorry i should have said it is a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. i don't have another car,and the nearest bus stop is 4 miles away I am buying from a dealership, because i NEEDED another car,and it was the only one i could find that would work with me for only $750 down, and a broken car as trade. I had picked this car because the engine is perfect, and i truly thought it was the brakes when i first looked at it,if it had been brakes i could of afforded to do it on my next paycheck and just do it myself, but it turned out to not be what i expected. If it helps the passanger is bad enough that when i push on the top of the wheel i can hear a small clunk/thunk,the drivers side i just feel play. I'm not sure i want to go back to them, because while they did work with me on the fact that the radio had gotten stolen the day before i bought it(someone had forgotten to lock it after a test drive) and the let me have the aftermarket radio from my trade, but they were to stupid to install it,the salesman just tried to plug in the harness from my last car and tried to plug it in the subaru harness and then asked me if the radio was working before,i just ended up doing the radio myself. So i am not sure they would even do the wheel bearings, and even if so i don't know if i would trust them. Also for options you were talking about i live in texas, are there any options for me? Because when i asked about the brakes when i was buying the car all the salesman said was i might want to get them done soon, but one of the mechanics said they MIGHT work with me and replace them for no labor if i bought the parts.
  9. Ok i came here before thinking i had a bad front wheel bearing, well i found out that it is not the front but the back(and both),because there is play. With the car in park i can push on the top of the and feel play, the drivers side a a little play, but the passenger said has at least twice the play. I just bought the car 2.5 weeks ago,and thought it was brakes making the noise. The problem is after the down payment i am kinda broke till the 2nd,and even then i have the first car payment, car ins. and my phone bill,i won't have any money to spend on repairs until the 16th. Do you think it will be okay to drive on it until then if all i am doing 10 miles each way to work 5 days a week, and mabye 5 miles to the store every so often?
  10. that did not seem to happen, also i had to stop checking fuses due to rain, but of all the fuses that i checked they were all still good. If it helps the only thing on the inside of the car that does not work is the curise control, everything else works perfectly.
  11. Well as a test i wired the yellow wire coming from the radio to the red wire, and turned the key and the radio turned on and worked, but i really don't want redo all my setting every time i start the car. I did not see a fuse on the stock wiring harness.
  12. Ok I am trying to install an aftermarket radio in my 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS,i know the radio was working before this. Well the red wire gets power when the key is on,the yellow wire is not getting any power at all. From what i read it is suppose to be giving a constant 12v. So where in the car could i find something that gives a constant 12v so i can splice into it to give power to the radio? I have checked the cabin fuses, and the one marked radio is good, and i do not see one the fuse box under the hood marked for the radio. Thank you guys for the help because i really want to get this radio working, because it has been over a week i have been with out a radio.
  13. I think my Impreza i just got 3 days ago may have a bad wheel bearing, can you guys help me confirm it. My car is a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS When i am driving perfectly straight there is no noise,if i am driving over 25 mph, when i turn the wheel right i get a sound that sounds like a rubbing tire(but it does not rub) when i turn left,it makes a noise that sounds like grinding brakes. At about 20mph is where the noise from it is the least, but if i am going like 5 mph or so,and trying to turn it clunks. Also if the car is off and in park and i go to the passenger side and make the car rock back and forth it clunks from behind the rim. If it is the wheel bearing, how hard is it to replace? The only repairs i have done is,help replace a strut on an 88 new yorker, replace a starter on a 96 aerostar, lower motor mount on a 97 cavalier and a failed head gasket repair on the same cavalier. Also what exact tools would i need to do the repair?
  14. sorry for the late reply i was at work. I have to say i love her already, she is so much better than my honda civic i had before her. She have a few problems, but they are small, and for the price i am paying i am very happy with her. I am paying $3995 for her,she blue books for $5300,she had 138k miles on her and other than some scratches on her,the clear coat on the wing is coming off causing the paint on it to fade some, the ac controls are missing a knob. Also i think the front right wheel bearing needs replaced, and MABYE brake pads but the sound may all be the wheel bearing. But the best part is the engine is in perfect shape, there is no noises or leaks at all. I think i got a great deal, but correct me if i am wrong about that lol.
  15. Sorry i worked yesterday, and have been busy all day. The biggest i wanted to get a car at a dealership, instead of fixing mine,or getting a cheap cash car,is because i to have a decent running car sooner rather than later,my mom is in a nursing home 75 miles away,i normally visit once a month but because of the car problems i have not been able visit her in almost 2 months,i do understand that it will cost a lot more in the long run,but i need something soon. I was looking at some more from the same dealership here they are. http://www.autoshopper.biz/2005_Saab_93_Houston_TX_259300914.veh http://www.autoshopper.biz/2003_Audi_A6_Houston_TX_258960538.veh These are both turbo, which would up the fun,but i have no idea how their reliability is. here are some more. http://www.autoshopper.biz/2005_Mazda_MAZDA3_Houston_TX_258496369.veh http://www.autoshopper.biz/2003_Infiniti_G35_Houston_TX_258829492.veh http://www.autoshopper.biz/2008_Mitsubishi_Lancer_Houston_TX_259275558.veh http://www.autoshopper.biz/1995_MercedesBenz_SClass_Houston_TX_258134536.veh I don't know much about the reliability of these cars either. Now here are 2 cars my sister(i currently live with her) wants me to get. http://www.autoshopper.biz/2005_GMC_Yukon%20XL_Houston_TX_258496076.veh http://www.autoshopper.biz/2005_Honda_Odyssey_Houston_TX_258960940.veh Which of these do you think i should i look at if the subaru is not good?
  16. When I look at the red one I will check for if the head gasket has been done. The big problem is that currently I have no money until payday, plus there are no somewhat drivable subaru's on my local craigslist for under $2000. According to that dealership, as long as I came get enough for TT&L, that they will work with me on approval, I did the math it it should be $350-$500 that I will need.
  17. Ok guys they still have not responded, i think it is gone. I also just found out what is causing the cooling problem on my current POS car,it's the head gasket the car is a civic. Well i noticed that a dealership a few miles from me has "100% Credit Approval" my sis says that means you have to make a certain amount a month, but if they approve me, i am thinking of calling them up in the morning cause they have a few Subaru's for good prices. Here is the cheapest Subaru they have: http://www.autoshopper.biz/2005_Subaru_Impreza_Houston_TX_258134651.veh They have a newer one but it is $3k more and most likely out of my price range i am thinking:http://www.autoshopper.biz/2007_Subaru_Impreza_Houston_TX_258604742.veh I don't even know if i will get approved, because i only make $450-$550 every 2 weeks, but i live with my sister and the only bills i have is car insurance,$66 a month for liability only, and my phone,$25 a month because i get it through work. IF i get approved and i could afford either, which would be the smart buy?
  18. Well i messaged them(text and email) at 11:30am,and now just after midnight and have not gotten a response,i hope in the next day or 2 i will get one,and that they still have it. I am hoping the fact that the ad is still up is a good sign that they have not gotten my message yet. If not i will keep watching for something to come up,and try and keep my current POS running until my income tax,but i don't know if i can lol it had started having a very weird cooling problem... If i get a reply back i will post back and tell you how it goes.
  19. I have not got a reply from the text yet but if they still have it,i know i should i buy and take a battery with me,but what exactly should i look out for on this car?
  20. I am looking into getting a cheap fixer upper Subaru due to money. I was going to wait till get my income tax to get one and spend it,based on what i got last year and what has already been pulled out i should get around $1600-$1700 mabye more if i am lucky, but my current car,has a lot of problems including a weird coolant leak, that does not leak lol. So i was looking at my local craigslist, and i say this one:http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5250817519.html Do you think it would be worth looking into? I could try to sell some stuff to come up with the money, and try to see if they will come down on the price to what i am able to get. I am going to text them now to ask if they still have it.
