  1. Tell me more about this anti-drainback filter..... when i do a change on the 11 forester, the filter is empty. And it is just a few over the number to get the class action help
  2. Yup. It is particularly useful for engine breaking on long hills, but go ahead and use it every day!
  3. How many o rings would i need to change the suspect ones on a 1999 outback
  4. I have the same car with 196k on it. I received it with no info or title, and corroded terminals. When i tried to replace the terminals, corrosion was 6 inches into the cables. Replacing the cables fixed it. Replace the cables all the way back to the starter.
  5. Thanks for reply So I went out and tried your step by step because I get in a hurry sometimes. It looks much better, only up to the top hole. I think that is much better, does everyone agree?
  6. 1999 legacy outback 2.5 She leaks oil so I checked it and added a half quart and drove away. A few days later (this morning) i check the oil again and it's two inches up the dip stick! I looked at the quart and might have gotten 2/3 of the quart in the engine. Is this a big deal? I plan on draining it a bit today, might do a whole oil change, but am unsure on turning on the car again to warm up the oil
  7. I have a wobbly battery as well, but my slits have corroded out of the frame from previous battery corrosion. Is there an easy fix? My battery moves a lot. Is there any creative alternate tie downs?
  8. The topic says it all. Do I have one? It certainly doesn't work on mine. ... Thanks!
  9. I called the dealer. He was able to tell cased on vin that I have engine code b. Auto zone can handle that. Learn something new every day
  10. Sorta new to boxers, but not new to cars. I am interested in learning more and meeting people that share the Subaru interest. Pm me if you are local and are interested in meeting up, or if there is already a meet up that i should know about
  11. TL;DR what oil filter does a 2011 Forrester 2.5 na take? Does it depend on engine code? So I went to auto zone to do the oil change I asked about last night. I siddle up to to booklet and find the filter that matches my car, engine, and promotion (Bosch filter I believe, Castrol edge was the sale of choice).they were out of the 3300, so I asked them if they had any more. They asked which engine code I had. It was something like (numbers)ab or ac. They said I can bring it in and the obd2 scanner will tell me, but now I don't trust them. Long story short, I need to change the oil...
  12. 2011 Forrester has black looking p.s. fluid and I would like to change it. It seems like I could just pull a house and dump it out while not letting the res run dry. Any reason I shouldn't?
  13. Keep it clean before name brands. Check! Thanks for the advice
  14. I have a 2011 Forrester currently circulating Mobil one and I would life to change to castrol edge for the sales in Denver favor edge. Is there am issue with mixing oil? Or just drain and fill. ...?
