  1. 13" rims with 175-70-13 tires. I really want some 14" wheels with light truck tires. Diamond racing wheels will get them for me, or I can have Scott do a 6 lug and find any size at the salvage yard

I'm curious what LT tires will fit both the 14" rims and your car? I had to hunt high and low to find the General Tire mud and snow tires I have for my 14" rims.

  2.  eventually want a 2" lift and some 14 or 15" wheels and tires. I have a Chevy truck that is my wheeling truck but the sub's will be for the desert small trails

What size are on it now?

  3. HI,

Sure this is covered online. One example: https://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=42159

TL;DR: They'll fit but rub on full steering lock against the inner fender wells. Assuming the 'later model rims' are '96-'99 OB or Forester?

Thanks, and uh oh, those guys say they may not fit due to the extra height. And I just bought em off CL. I brought them home and they appear to be 2 to 3 inches taller. They are off a mid nineties(?) Forester.

PS, I did an online search that bought me here.

  4. Everything through about 2012+ will fit. They switched for some imprezas and such but almost all subarus from 1990-present are 5x100 rims.

I've got a 15 inch Chevy cavalier full size spare for my 98 legacy and used to run Chrysler 5x100 rims on my 97 Impreza.

Thanks. :)  Chevy Cavalier, and Chrysler rims? That should open a plethora of options. I did a bit of research before posting, and saw the 5x100mm thing. COOL!

Any thoughts on A/T style tires?

  5. I have the same car stock.I have beat it driving all over the Olympic mountains.

Mine is all stock at the moment with the exception of the General Tire M&S tires I had installed. It's been totally the Boss in blizzard like conditions, and managed to get through some really tough icy, snowy roads. I would like to have the taller tires and suspension installed, but these things will have to wait until I can afford them.

Meanwhile, I'm really liking what Andrewlc93 has done to his Subie, and am enjoying this thread. :)

  6. Hey! All in all the struts ended up coming to the 300 dollar ballpark with shipping and tax, in the pictures the stock 185 70r14's are still on, but I recently picked up some new wheels coupled up with 215 60r16 Yokohama geolandar at-s tires, they rub a bit at full lock but nothing serious.

Make sure to post photos with the new struts and wheels. Are you going to re-calibrate the speedometer for the taller tires?

  7. First post up here, figured I could share some pics of my Subie. She's a 1993 legacy L, picked up for $1200 originally. Mods at this point are KYB struts for the 1998 outback to give a slight lift,

Nice! That's the same year Legacy I have. Hoping to turn it into an adventure wagon as well.

Do you mind if I ask what the KYB struts set you back? What tires are you running? I'm looking at a set of General Altimax RT43 tires.

  8. Emissions I/M monitor testing can only be done on OBD2 vehicles. Which will be only 1995 and newer vehicles.

OBD1 does not use emissions monitors. So Subarus and most other vehicles made between 1990 and 1994 will not qualify for monitor testing. They will only be subject to tail pipe testing, though they will still fail an emissions test if the check engine light is on at the time of testing.

    Thank You! :D
