I have managed to pull the above noted codes...both at the same time (?)...I have read previous posts but would welcome any other ideas. Looks like a Vent Control Solenoid?

[engine light issues with gas fill up]

Hi,

 

I have a 2001 Legacy wagon L. every so often the engine light comes on--usually as the gas level goes down below half. Sometimes after a fill up it will go away for several days again until the level of gas drops. The filler caqp seems good and tight. Any ideas?

 

Also, what do you suggest as a code reader? I plan on getting one as if I don't need it for this I will need it for another. I also have a 1990 Sub legacy wagon.

[2001 Legacy wagon radio removal help please]

Hi,

 

I am trying to fim an intermittant problem with the radio (no sound)...when I tap teh radio it works briefly then nothing---could be any number of issues but thats not the issue I need help with,

 

I have removed the shift stick cover and the ash tray and the little storage bin (2 screws)....I began to pop off the trim peice that surunds that area and around the two centre vents....but it will not budge near to the left of the ashtray area....are there any screws on that piece of plastic? Sor far all I have seen are clips that press fit....I have not pulled anymore because I do not want to snap the plastic.

 

Any help appreciated.

In fact, my Euro spec car is factory fitted with 5 range. I recently swapped them for 6 range after a few trackdays seemed to wear the 5 range too fast, and I find my engine is doing very well indeed.

 

Summary: Setright recommends 6 range for all but the grannies ;-)

[Spark Plug Confusion-2001 Legacy L Wgn]

Every after market, Store and Internet site I read indicates a BKR5EGP etc value of plug while the manual calls for 6 range. Which is right? I just bought the BKR6EIX-11's (Iridium) and am now wondering if I should switch for a 5 range. I realize the 5 is hotter, anyone have similar delema?

I recently purchased a 2003 Legacy L "Special Edition" wagon and am looking to install a trailer hitch on the vehicle. From what I have read and found there isn't a wiring harness that plugs into the factory wiring system for the Legacy Wagon unless it's an Outback model. So what I'm wondering is if anyone knows of any place that makes/sells wiring harnesses that plug into the factory system for just a plain 2003 Legacy L wagon or if anyone has used an Outback wiring harness on an Legacy L wagon?

Does anyone know if there is a pre-wired hook up point for the wiring for a trailer hitch on this veh or do I have to splice in to the lines?
